The look on his face was priceless. He was confused at first but then he bursted into laughter.
He laughed for a while before he noticed the stern look on my face. He stopped laughing and cleared his throat loudly.
"Wait are you being serious?" He asked, adjusting himself properly on the chair.
"Do I look like I'm joking?"
"Is this your way of confessing your feelings to me? Well, I know that I'm hot so it wouldn't be a surprise if you've fallen for me" he said boastfully.
"You wish. The thing is that I may have told my mom that I have a boyfriend so she could get off my back with her nagging."
"She wants me to get married but that's the last thing on my mind." I sighed tiredly.
I remember the last fight we had that made me move out of the house. After Dave and I broke up, I called off our wedding and my mom was so pissed because she had made all arrangements and had sent out the wedding invitations.
She wasn't concerned with how I was feeling that period and wanted me to still go through with the wedding saying things like that happen all the time in relationships.
"Hey, where's your mind at. Been calling your name for sometime now" Andrew knocked on the table.
"Ohh, sorry. Was just thinking of something. Anyway, what do you say..."
"How long does this charade have to go on?"
"Just one night. She invited my non-existent boyfriend and I to dinner in two days time."
"Hmmm..."
He sat with one leg crossing over the other. He rubbed his hand on his clean-shaven jaw, thinking about what I had said. He gave me a side look and tapped on his chin.
I clutched my hands together tightly praying fervently that he accepts to help me out.
"Fine. I'm going to help you out" I was about squealing when he cut me off "But it's not going to be free."
"What do you want?"
"I don't really have anything to ask of right now, but when I do I'll let you know."
He had his creepy smile on his face as if he was already planning something for the future. I really hope he doesn't ask for something weird later on.
"Okay! Let's shake on this deal, shall we?" I brought my hand forward and he shook it.
A call came in on his phone and he quickly disengaged our hands to pick the call.
"Tell him I'll be with him in a jiffy" He said to the person on the phone and stood up to take his leave.
"Text me the details for the dinner" He checked the time on his watch, gave me a curt nod and made his way out of my office.
I sighed in relieve. Guess I've finally crossed the bridge.

I sat before the TV skipping through channels as I haven't seen any exciting show to watch.
I hissed at the show one of the channels was airing. It was called "shoot your shot".
A guy was being interviewed and he said he had been crushing on this girl but he didn't have the courage to ask her out, so he wanted this crew to help him out so he could find true love.
I laughed immediately I heard the word true love causing me to choke on the potato chips I was munching.
I quickly ran to the kitchen grabbed a bottle of water and gulped it down.
Returning to the sitting room, I switched off the TV. I was about retiring to my room when I heard the doorbell.
I checked the time on the wall clock and it read 9:00pm.
'Who could that be?'
I thought of who could come over by this time but none came to mind. I picked up the half drunk bottle water holding it my front as a weapon.
I walked stealthily towards the door taking slow steps. The doorbell rang again making me drop the bottle in fear. I wiped my sweaty palms on clothes and picked up the bottle again.
I got to the door and opened it only to get the surprise of my life.
