Chương 5: New Power? (1)

When he woke up, the first thing he thought was, 'Am i alive?'

Aiken slowly regained his senses as he woke up, but as soon as he did, he felt a shooting pain running throughout his entire being.

His whole body felt like it was rusted as if he hadn't moved in days. He struggled to open his eyes due to the blinding pain, but he eventually managed to open them.

The horrible pain slowly subsided, allowing him to focus on his surroundings. He was right where he had passed out and died before, out in the bare plain, laying on the cold hard ground of the island.

He could only see the darkness of the sky that enveloped the island and the abyss that he was in. It was completely void of light, except for the crimson moon radiating cold light throughout the Abyss.

He laid there unable to move for hours on end, until the pain finally subsided. During that time, all he could think about was how he managed to survive and what and where the place that he was at was.

He also was unbelievably hungry and tired, even though it seemed as if he had been sleeping for days. After a few hours, he knew that he either had to move to go eat and drink, or he would die. He was severely dehydrated, which definitely didn't help his current condition.

So, he slowly sat up, but when he looked at his body, he was instantly met with a wave of shock.

He had glanced at his torso, noticing that his guts were in fact, not falling out and he did not even have a scar there. Even at his chest, his ribs seemed to have healed along with everything else in that area, also not leaving behind a scar.

'How, how am I perfectly fine? I clearly got those injuries before, even my arm has healed! It's not like I was hallucinating or dreaming, there is still the rope that I wrapped around my stomach to prevent my guts from coming out right there! It's almost as if I was magically healed perfectly, which is clearly impossible!'

Even after thinking about it, he still couldn't make sense of what had happened. The only conclusion he could come to was if there was some kind of magical power that healed him, but that was clearly impossible.

Although confused about it, he put it aside and slowly stood his sore body up, limping across the barren plain. He slowly made his way towards the lake, and drank from it for 5 minutes straight without stopping. His body seemed to be on the brink of death even though his injuries were healed, most likely because of dehydration and starvation.

After drinking so much water so fast, he couldn't help but throw up, depriving his body of even more nutrients and drying his throat once again. In his pitiful state, he drank a bit more water, but not too much so he wouldn't throw up again.

He wobbled his way back over to where he had fought and was ready to have a good and deserved meal.

He looked at the corpse of the entity, seeing it burnt to a crisp due to the sword's flame.

'Well, at least it's cooked. it's better for it to taste like ash than to get food poisoning i guess, food poisoning is never fun.'

Aiken took out his now blood-stained dagger and started separating the flesh of the entity.

Although he had seen many disgusting scenes and dead animals throughout his life, seeing a human-like creature being dissected and mutilated disgusted him to his core. He could barely hold himself back from throwing up while cutting up the entity.

He separated the different parts that were edible and what were not, basing it off of what he learned in school and what looked edible. He was mostly left with charred fat and muscle/meat.

He mentally prepared himself for a rancid and disgusting taste, since he didn't even have a clue of an idea of how it may taste.

He took a meaty section from the thigh section area of the entity, and took one last deep breath.

He bit down into it, tasting the most disgusting and alien taste he had ever tasted. It tasted like some weird, distorted pork, but had a slimy and grainy texture to it, making it feel horrible to eat but also had a weirdly okay taste to it.

Although disgusted by the texture, it tasted okay, so he began to dig in. He ate and ate, filling his stomach with pounds of food, due to his hunger. He had gone almost a week without eating, and it really started to get to his skinny body.

After he ate for hours upon hours, eating over 5 pounds of meat (5 pounds is about 17500 calories, which is around 8 days' worth of food for a normal diet) in total.

By the end of it, he felt sick since eating that much food isn't the best for a stomach that hasn't digested food in almost a week. He laid on the cold ground of the island, so he could relax for once and rest.

But after a few minutes of laying down, something seemed to change inside his body.

It felt like something had been awakened inside him, in the deepest and darkest parts of his soul. It felt like he had been enlightened, all of his past doubts seemed to have been solved and now made sense. He finally seemed to mentally accept that he would never get out of wherever he was in one piece. Although he was almost sure he was going to die, he felt more connected to his life and past experiences, as if his mind craved to survive and thrive.

Even his body seemed more united with his entire being. He felt at peace with the world and himself, as if all his past struggles never happened and he was leading a successful life.

At this point, he realized that his eyes were closed, and he opened them.

But when he looked around, it seemed as if time had completely stopped. He looked around, mesmerized by the magical particles that seemed to glow and lighten up everything around him.

It seemed like he was back on earth, in a beautiful forest beaming full of life.

The magical particles were all different shapes and sizes some hundreds of times bigger than the others! Some of the colors seemed to have more than others, and some of them seemed to have less than the others.

The particles that seemed to be made out of pure darkness were much more numerous than the ones made out of pure light, and the brown particles were much more frequent than the green ones. There were barely any red particles, and a lot of blue particles.

But the most common particles seemed to be the ones made out of pure darkness.

When he looked at the particles formed from darkness, he couldn't help but feel fuzzy and happy, unlike ever before. He felt a connection and a familiarity with them, and his instincts wouldn't stop telling him to take the particles away.

So, he instinctively reached out, and tried to grab the darkness particles. He tried with all his will to try to get the particles to move towards him, but nothing was happening!

But he continuously tried, and after a minute darkness particle ever slowly gravitated towards his hand.

When one of them reached the tip of his finger, it felt oddly cold and lonely, but that only seemed to make him feel better, as if the coldness and loneliness made him happier and warmer instead of cold and sad.

The darkness particle then entered into his finger, and climbed its way down towards his hand, then down his arm, and throughout his entire body until it reached the core of his being.

When this happened, Aiken could faintly sense it inside of him as it traveled, and couldn't help but feel amazed by how it felt. As it slowly ran through his body, he still didn't stop trying to attract even more of the darkness particles.

By the time the first particle entered into his body and made it to the center of his being, hundreds had also entered, guided by Aiken's body and mind to the center of his being.

He had to use all his willpower and focus to gather and lead all the particles throughout his being towards the center of him.

After putting all his focus and willpower into this for hours, he managed to gather thousands of particles inside him. During that time, he was in a meditative state, only aware of the presence of the particles around him.

After he gathered all those particles together, he was even more tired than before, and he had no willpower or strength left to even move.

So, he fell asleep once again.

10 hours later, he woke up. He felt more energetic than ever before, but still a bit bloated from his meal. As he looked around, he saw once again the magical particles everywhere, surrounding him and everything else. Even objects and liquids seemed to be made out of these condensed particles, but he wasn't able to tell because of how densely they were compacted.

Everything radiated different colors and some stronger than others, usually softer materials or less dense ones radiated less, while denser and sturdier materials were brimming with an aura.

After taking account of all of the new crazy changes to his visions and senses, he focused once again on the center of his being.

Just like when he had fallen asleep, there were thousands of scattered particles where the center of his being was. Although they increased his mood and made him feel a bit better, they currently had no real use for him, which really disappointed him.

He thought about it and came up with a crazy idea.

'What if I try to find a way to control them? There has to be some use for them, since they seem to make up everything around me. So, if i can control them, i would surely be able to do amazing things with it, right?'

But after coming up with that idea, he was stumped. How could he control them? It seemed that he could only use all his willpower to influence what they did, but he couldn't truly control it.

Over the next few hours, he came up and tried many different ideas, but still couldn't figure out a way to actually control it. Then, he had a crazy idea. What if he used his body to force it under his influence?

If he fused the particles together with his body, he could create a way to control them!

Excited to test out his new idea, he quickly sat down on the ground and went into a meditative state.

He looked deep inside of him, to the center of his being. He saw the thousands of particles sitting there, and he settled on one of them.

He decided to just use one of the small particles to test it out, since he had no idea how his body would react to the fusing.

Focusing on the small particle, He tried to allow it to further align with his body, to seep even deeper into his being. The particle slowly fused with his body, but right before it managed to fuse, he felt a blinding pain!

His body rejected the energy and tried to expel it from his body. Although in terrible pain, he tried to recklessly trap the energy inside of his body, instead of expelling it.

He sat there in agony for what felt like days, trying to force the particle into submission. His body worked and worked, pressuring the particle and closing it off from moving.

After what felt like days, He finally fused it with his body, and couldn't help but fall asleep.

When he woke up, he noticed something peculiar. He seemed a bit stronger than before!

'Did the particle make me stronger when I absorbed it?'

Although it did seem that the particle made him stronger when he absorbed it, it was way too much of a grueling practice to be practical. He could do that same process but with more, but he had a high chance of killing himself just due to the immense pain it caused.

He kept thinking about it, trying to think of a way to make it more practical to absorb it.

After a while though, he had a realization.

'What if it allows me to absorb it now that I already absorbed some? It seemed to have to assimilate and not reject my body, so wouldn't having the particle being fused with my body at least lessen the pain of the process?'

Although they were just theories, he couldn't wait to see if it would actually work!
