Chương 23: Investigate This Person

Zhang Yu Ying shifted her gaze to Ye Qing Luo as if asking for her verification. Seeing the girl nod slowly surprised her. Zhang Yu Ying did not think that Ye Qing Luo would lie.

However, this information was indeed too shocking. It took her a while to process this information.

It was then that Zhang Yu Ying seemed to recall the strange feeling while she was with Ye Qing Xin earlier. During their meeting at her grandfather's birthday banquet, Zhang Yu Ying might not notice it too much as there were too many people around. But just now, she had slowly noticed that the way Ye Qing Xin was acting was a little strange.

Ye Qing Xin seemed to know that this news was hard to digest and allowed her some time to compose herself.

After a while, Zhang Yu Ying looked up again. "Then, what can I do for you?"

Ye Qing Luo contacted her, saying that her sister had something to discuss. Since Ye Qing Xin had brought up this matter about her accident and memory loss, Zhang Yu Ying was quick enough to figure out that the person in front of her wanted her help with something.

The corner of Ye Qing Xin's lips tilted up.

"You should have known that I have a fiance and was about to get married in a few months," Ye Qing Xin said.

Zhang Yu Ying nodded. She had met Jin Tian Yi a few times and had received their wedding invitation. However, regarding Jin Tian Yi, Zhang Yu Ying never liked that man. In her opinion, Jin Tian Yi was too pretentious.

The way he behaved in front of Ye Qing Xin was too different than when they were not together.

In the past, Zhang Yu Ying often wondered how did the two of them get together. However, Zhang Yu Ying decided not to comment on it. She thought that perhaps, there was some good thing in Jin Tian Yi that only Ye Qing Xin could see.

"Miss Zhang, I wanted you to help me investigate this person."

Zhang Yu Ying could not hide her surprise. "You want me to help you investigate your fiance?"

Ye Qing Xin nodded. "I don't remember anything about him." Her finger traced against the cup in front of her slowly. "The people around me said that we are a loving couple. But seeing him only made me feel uneasy. There was something about him that makes me uncomfortable. I hope to understand what I am feeling."

Zhang Yu Ying pursed her lips into a thin line.

"Because of my memory loss, I don't have a lot of people that I can trust," Ye Qing Xin said. "My sister said that you are one of the friends that I can trust. Therefore, I can only hope that you can help me."

Zhang Yu Ying wondered why Ye Qing Xin did not ask Jiang Liang Chen, but she figured that Ye Qing Xin should have her reason.

Taking a deep breath, Zhang Yu Ying then spoke, "I understand. Tell me how I can help you with this matter. If it is something that I can do, I will help."

"Thank you." Ye Qing Xin heaved a breath of relief.

If Zhang Yu Ying rejected this request, Ye Qing Xin would not know who else she could ask for help.

In her opinion, with Zhang Yu Ying's influence and background, it would not be too hard for her to help her investigate a few things.

The two of them continued to discuss what Ye Qing Xin wanted to investigate for a while before Ye Qing Xin finally came up with an excuse to leave.

Seeing that Ye Qing Xin was calling the server to pay the bills, Zhang Yu Ying quickly stopped her. "You don't have to worry about the bills. I will take care of it."

It was then that Ye Qing Xin remembered that her sister had mentioned that this hotel belonged to the Zhang family.

"Then, Miss Zhang, thank you." Ye Qing Xin stretched her hand for a handshake.

A faint smile curled on her lips. She shook hands with Ye Qing Xin and spoke, "Actually, you can always call me Ying Ying."

Zhang Yu Ying liked befriending Ye Qing Xin before. Her instinct told her that Ye Qing Xin did not change much even after she had lost her memory.

Ye Qing Xin flashed a smile. "Then... Ying Ying."

This can also be considered as getting to know each other again, right?

Zhang Yu Ying walked the Ye siblings to the entrance.

Ye Qing Luo asked her sister to wait at the entrance while she went to get the car keys from the valet parking.

Then, as if she recalled something, Ye Qing Xin stopped to look at Zhang Yu Ying again. "There is something else that I forgot to say."

"Xin Xin, you can just tell me."

"I also hope that you can help me to look into my accident." Ye Qing Xin wanted to bring up this matter earlier, but she did not want her little sister to worry.

After all, the two of them had talked about her accident on their way to meet Zhang Yu Ying at the hotel.

"My family told me that I was on my way back from work and happened to drive a little fast," Ye Qing Xin said. "But I always felt as if there was something strange about it."

The look on Zhang Yu Ying's face changed.

Zhang Yu Ying wondered if Ye Qing Xin was suspecting that someone had done something that had caused the accident.

"Of course, I will help you to find out about this matter." Zhang Yu Ying put on a smile when Ye Qing Luo returned to her sister's side. Zhang Yu Ying quickly noticed the warning in Ye Qing Xin's gaze. She was telling her not to talk about this matter in Ye Qing Luo's presence. "Xin Xin, I will contact you again once I have the information you wanted."

Ye Qing Luo looked at the two women alternately.

Ye Qing Xin nodded to Zhang Yu Ying. Then, she turned around and walked over to the vehicle. "Xiao Luo, let's go back."
