Hector finally reaped my winnings from his sports betting. Ten million dollars is much money, but the important thing is how to use that money. Head Coach: Luke Wharton. Assisted by Alvin Gentry, Vlade Divac, and Doug Christie. Divac is known for his excellent vision of the game, not at the level of Jokic, but not negligible. Instead of being a GM, Vlade Divac was responsible for player development. He will partly improve Hector's game this season, especially in the game's vision.
During training camps and scrimmages, Hector will crush the competition for the starting spot in the 5. Wharton hesitated between him and Whiteside, but he favored the development of Hector. Whiteside and Hector are similar in that they are good circle defenders. Their athletic presence allows them to stand on the rebound. While Whiteside is a better rim protector, Hector is much better on man-to-man defense, not to mention his statistical versatility and impact on the court.
In baseball, a five-tool player receives this label if he displays when he is good in five categories: hitting for average, hitting for power, fielding, speed, and throwing. It's about man's defense, versatility, disruptive off-ball, engine, and shot-blocking in basketball. Hector is good at all five of these areas.
We know that he studied the game of Scottie Pippen and especially Andrei Kirilenko and, more recently, Draymond Green, who added the deterrence of the rim. But we see the embryo of the lineage of the space-ball defender that NBA franchises are looking for so much. Bam Adebayo is the one who most closely resembles him among the active players. But his offensive palette is developing in the shadows, and working with a recognized defender in the NBA landscape like Whiteside will give him more indication as to the relevance of this one.
The main problem with Hector's attacking style is his need for more experience and the opportunity to express his game freely. Luke Wharton is a coach who trained with the Warriors before coaching the Lakers. He knows what he wants, but the Kings players must fit the profile. Fox is a fast player, but Wharton favors a slow pace; Hector is a technically talented center but prefers blue-collar workers.
An offensive potential is kept on a leash because an offensive system cannot highlight it. Hence peoples misunderstand Hector's role. All of this is going to be reflected this season in many ways.
