Chương 570: Sacrifice
The walls were decorated with drawings and sparse writings. The murals themselves were somewhat hard to understand, but if one mixed and matched all the possible meanings, they would be left with a handful of conclusions.
The first part of the mural depicted an aged figure holding a young girl by the hand.
It gave off an aura of… love?
It was strange.
The young girl's hand was held warmly by the aged figure, and she had a slight smile on her face.
The aged figure also had a smile… but it seemed forced. Like he was doing it just because the little girl was smiling at him first.
Both the figures had their hearts outlined, and they were connected to each other with a red thread.
'They were related,' Liam quickly realized.
Above it all was a single word.
Liam's translator flickered for several seconds before settling to a stop.
The word read:
"Sacrifice."
Liam's eyes widened.

CovidCandy Hey guys, I hope every single one of you guys are doing well in your lives. I just thought I'd upload a chapter and give a quick update on why I've been so inactive, feel free to skip as its nothing really important.
It's been a few months that I've been in university, and let me tell you, it sucks. It takes a lot of my time and I'm not left with much time to write. Of course, writing itself isn't that hard, it's the process of taking an idea, figuring out where to put it in the story, and the execution of it all. I'll be honest and say I haven't gone through my notes in a while now, so I'm building/removing the train tracks as we ride. Last night I was falling asleep and I just remembered a really amazing way to take the story, and I just had to muster the energy to write a chapter. I'm not really sure when I'll be able to get a proper schedule going, but when I get my holidays, I'm sure the first thing I'll do is pull a few all-nighters and get some chapters uploaded. I really don't want to disappoint you guys with the story, especially the bros that have stuck since the beginning and are extremely supportive (thank you, I know who you are, all ten of you). Please don't think that I've put the story down or that I've forgotten about it, I myself want to see it out until the end. That's pretty much all I've got to say so far.
