Cael hovered in the air fifteen meters away from the Void's head. From this distance he could take in the entire dragon, and not be deafened by his booming voice.
Looking at the Void, Cael understood why Dante was so sure that no one would go against him. Even if there were any Starspawn scouts in the Mattoni Empire, they would have huge troubles creating dissent that the Void or his dragons, or his ejderha, wouldn't be able to suppress. Especially since there were no truly powerful mages in the country besides Dante.
As for the Void himself, he could likely destroy several Starspawns like Shattered Fourteen. The pure might of the onyx dragon, paired with their innate immunity to magic, made him an incredibly hard target for assassination, especially by creatures that were made of magic.
Plus, the dragon himself could use magic, as he showed already by using projection on the glyph. Magic that Cael never saw before—an absolutely ancient thing.
