Cael spread out his arms, trying to regain lost balance. Above himself, he heard Janus laughing, but the whooshing of wind in his ears drowned out most of the sound.

The headwind spun Cael in the air, making the earth and the sky change places over and over. Forcing down his nausea, Cael thought quickly. If only he had more experience with wings!

Since he didn't, he had to use what he knew. His mind rapidly calculated his options. Several minutes of thinking fit in a single second of uncontrolled descent.

Finally, Cael focused on his mana and shaped it into several meta-forms. <Air>, <current> and <control>, repeated several times to fill the spell with enough mana.

Forced into a single spell by Cael's will, the spell gathered air around Cael into a single current, directed downward. Now the wind flew down alongside Cael and stopped hitting and twisting his wings.
