'Could it be that the Blood Trial gates lead to several different subspaces?' Cael thought. 'But from everyone's words, this wasn't the case! Otherwise, how could anyone be saved from a Blood Trial?'
Then Cael spotted a movement below. Everything became clear at once—German was down there, creeping behind pillars.
What was the vampire trying to do? Cael wasn't sure. He wasn't even sure what this part of the Blood Trial was about, although it was apparent that the victory was somewhere behind the door on the other end of the hall.
Which meant it was behind the bovine guardian. The animated statue… even if it was as fast as an ordinary human, with its sheer weight and size, it could turn anyone not protected by magic into a splatter on the ground!
And here, Cael realized, there was no magic.
A thought came to his head. His eyes widened.
Cael immediately reached for his storage book to test this idea.
This devolved a bit.
