The time between when I got home from the Underworld and my birthday passed quickly and without incident. It was almost a blur of time as I prepared for the big day with my family. I was about to be an adult, after all, so it was hectic for us all. 

My party wouldn't be happening until the weekend, but my birthday itself was on Monday, and we would be celebrating with just the family. I was looking forward to that time together with them. In the not-too-distant future, I'd be moving to the Underworld with Lex and Rudy, so I wanted to make the most of my time here, to soak up the love and images of the people I loved the most.

Awaking from a strange dream with elusive meanings, I stretched and tried to put the unsettling images out of my mind.
