Chương 1: Chapter 1
In the darkness and smog of Gotham city, there is a figure running in an ally franticly like it's running from something. That figure is me Takehiro Mochizuki born to a Japanese mother and afro American/British father currently living in Gotham to go to boarding school at Gotham academy. Right now, I am running for my life from a creature I have been seeing all my life.
Starting to run out of breath I see a transparent window in Infront suddenly appeared in the corner of my vision
[Bonding Complete]
"huh" I exclaimed hearing a voice in my head
~~PAUSE~~
Before we continue with the story let's start with how I got into this situation I am in.
~A Few Hours Ago~
Ever since I was a kid, I could always see these monsters, ghosts, ghouls, whatever they are, that no one else could see. Whenever I would tell people this, they would call me crazy, or r I'm just seeing this with my overactive imagination. Giving up on telling people what I see, I tried to ignore them, but they were everywhere at school, at home, and outside in the streets. Even when we visited my mother's home country, I still saw them everywhere.
Besides my ability to see what others can't, I had a unique physiology while I was fully human (not a meta) I was 3x times stronger and faster than the average human. I was also smarter than most, I was a Proficient Learner and I picked up on things faster than other kids my age. With my superhuman abilities, I was number 1 at school for academics.
Now back to the reason why, I was running from this creature at night. On the news for the past week, there has been an influx of people who have disappeared out of thin air or have been killed. They say Gotham PD is working night and day to find out what's happening and who is doing it, but I don't believe it.
Walking through the halls of Gotham Academy to head to class I noticed a huge disturbance of the creatures than their usual is. Walking up to the front door of my classroom is see what seems to be a giant figure that moved so fast I almost did not catch it. While walking into the classroom to go to my seat I stayed deep in thought about what I saw.
Taken out of my thought my English teacher Mr. Stevens begins talking "ladies and gentlemen I regret to inform you that the missing people you heard about on the news has happened to us, William Bradshaw is missing knows where to be found, listen if you know where he is telling us immediately is the best thing" Mr. Stevens sighed.
After that announcement, I was shocked for the most part seeing the majority of the disappearance cases had not happened in this area. Continuing with English class I was distracted by that beast I saw, hoping my suspicion was wrong, and that beast and its kinds were not the cause of the influx of disappearances.
Hearing the bell ring I pack up my stuff getting ready to leave. But before I could leave Mr. Stevens called me to his desk, "Takehiro one of your classmates seems to be struggling in this class and I was wondering if you tutor her in the library today" asked Mr. Steven. Seeing Chloe hunter, a girl known for getting in trouble next to him "sure Mr. Steven" Volunteering myself. Looking at Chloe "be there at 7 pm" speaking to Chloe before leaving the class
As the rest of the day went on it felt as if there was something following me that not even, I could see. I spent the rest of the school day trying to get rid of the ominous feeling I got earlier. School ended at around 4 pm and because William went missing, we were not allowed to leave the building like we usually do.
Heading to my dorm to chill and relax until 6 pm before heading to the library to tutor Chloe. Entering my dorm, I went to my closet to change into more comfortable clothing (sneakers, cargo pants, and a hoodie). I decided to play some video games to shave off sometime before heading to the library.
After 2 hours of playing video games, I turned off my PC, grabbed my bookbag, and headed to the library. While walking I notice something strange the things I usually see are nowhere to be found and the hallway is quite than it used to be. "Someone must be throwing a party" I exclaimed walking into the library to see no one was there.
Walking over to a table on the closest wall and sat down. Seeing it was only six and there was an hour left before the set appointment was scheduled. Deciding to wait for Chloe, I took out my homework I had and started to do it. Looking at my phone to see an hour and a half went by "where the hell is Chloe" I complained.
Sighing because Chole is late, looking at my phone "she has 15 more minutes before I leave" I stated. Just as I said that I heard a scream from what seemed to be feminine, "what the hell was that" I murmured.
Getting up from my seat to Go investigate where that scream came from. Leaving the library, I slowly roam the halls looking where that scream originated. While looking around down the hall I see an underglow coming from a room. Rushing to the room to find out what happened, I open the door to see blood everywhere and see that the monster I saw earlier was eating and mauling Chloe, the girl I was supposed to tutor.
Scared out of my mind I sputtered "what is happening". As I spoke it got the monster's attention before I could leave it did something that shook me it talked "MoRe FoOd" in a raspy deep voice. Hearing it talk I took off running not wanting to be its next victim. Running through the halls I try to find the nearest exit to save myself.
Finding an exit, I left as fast as possible, now out of the building I ran to the gate and climbed over it to make my great escape. Now in the wild city of Gotham, I'm in a constant panic now trying to find myself a safe place. Thinking I should go to the police, I stopped myself knowing if I went, they would not believe me that a monster killed Chloe.
Continuing running through Gotham, I bumped into people along the way. Looking back to see if the monster was on my trail, I was relieved to see he was not there. But before I could bask in happiness, I heard a growl, confused about where it came from, I looked up at the buildings my face paled, and saw the monster chase me from building roofs.
Seeing an alleyway, I turn and run there.

"What the hell is this" I wondered. Not seeing the monster around after running for a while I step into a corner and check out the transparent window in front of me. Just as I finish looking there is a new message for me.

Looking at the message it had a gift basket image below. Pressing yes, the starter pack opens gives me a couple of interesting things.

Gamer's Body is a passive skill that is already obtained and maxed since the Gamer's ability started to develop.
Effect
Grants a body that allows the user to live in the real world like a game. (He receives no physical damage from attacks only pain for a few seconds and a loss of HP).
After sleeping in a bed, it restores HP, and MP and cures all status effects.

Description: Through continuous observation, a skill to observe objects, situations, and persons was generated allowing the user to quickly gather information. The higher the skill, the greater the data obtained. At level 9, the skill comments on what is observed.

Ability: A Mysterious Energy Manipulation (Hint Hint)

Description: Asuramaru is a possession-type demon weapon of the Black Demon Series, where he takes the form of black katana with a green edge. Whilst in use, the blade develops a thick green aura
After looking at what I got, I saw I had a weapon and I summoned it to my hand. Admiring the weapon, I swing it around to get a good feel of it. While holding the weapon the monster whom I thought I lost found me and attacked me. Using the sword as a guard I block the attack of the monster.
Looking at the monster I use to observe it.
[Vengeful Cursed Spirit]
Level: 30
Now knowing that the monsters I have been seeing are cursed spirits I get ready for another attack. Using the sword training I did with my grandfather (on my mother's side) during the summer in Japan a couple of years back.
Just as I was about to attack, I got another alert from the system, it was a mission.
[New quest initiated! Defeat the cursed spirit]
Defeat the cursed spirit:
Kill the cursed spirit that has been chasing you around Gotham and is trying to kill you.
Reward: 10 levels, iron chest
Note: Failure to complete may result in your death
Seeing the message, I had to take this seriously, getting into a stance I attacked the cursed spirit with a sword slash across one of its limbs but just as I cut it off it regenerated. Trying to think of a new plan I remembered that one of my abilities of got was this mysterious energy manipulation, I try to use it and coat the sword in the energy to see if it would have an effect.
Coating the sword in the energy it got cut off by an attack from the cursed spirit, using the blade to stop the attack in the same motion I use the sword the cut that arm off. Seeing the arm did not regenerate I got happy knowing I had a chance.
Going blow for blow on each other, I started to get tired of the fight. Slowing down, I got hit by an attack causing a laceration across my chest, and got flung further back in the alleyway. Getting up I heard a whisper in my head "use the Asura-Kannon technique". Hearing the voice, I made a decision not to question it
Yelling "Asura-Kannon" a dozen of floating swords roughly in the shape of a fan above me generate. Coating the dozen in the energy I sent the sword to pierce the spirit, after finishing my attack the cursed spirit starts to fade into dust.
Catching my breath, the window pops up.
