As the rubble cleared and the water flowed, Meilyr approached Adelphas' devoured corpse.

The Sea Monsters that had swarmed him were gone, though their attacks had been so relentless that small craters and fissures littered the ground around his skeleton. 

Cradled between his bones and tattered garb, a gold-sculpted orb glimmered under the pale moonlight.

"That's one less hurdle to worry about," Meilyr muttered, placing the artifact beneath his ensemble.

"Lord!" Gal-Enshu's voice echoed as he darted across the collapsed trees, frowning at the surrounding damage. "Are... are you... alright?" he stuttered.

Meilyr listlessly nodded, asking, "Did you do it?" 

"Yes, my Lord." He went down on one knee, bowing with unwavering loyalty. "They are dead." 

"Excellent work. What about their orbs?"
