“T... two hundred million!!”
Dumbfounded, Su Songyu stood up from the chair, unknowingly. Leng San was very amused by Su Songyu’s reaction, but his reaction remained calm. He then cupped his hands to pay respect to Su Songyu again.
“Yes Elder Su, the next due date will be three months from now on. But due to the distance, I would have to depart in three days. I have no intention to force you to buy it. I am merely making a proposal for you to consider. It’s true that the other party proposed to buy the leg at two hundred million gold coins, but if you’re going to offer the same price, I would not be able to sell it to you as it wouldn’t generate enough profit. So, I’d rather not break the contract.”
Su Songyu’s face grew pale. Two hundred million gold coins would equate to the sect’s ten years of profit at the least. And Leng San told him that if he could not offer a higher price, he would not sell it to him!! With only three days to decide, it made Su Songyu hesitate even more. But this would give his brother the will to live on. Suddenly, an instructor of the Fire Fortress Sect ran to the reception room.
“My lord, Elder Su Zhao attempted to commit suicide again.”
“What!!” Su Songyu’s emotion was out of control.
‘Ohhh… that old geezer Su Zhao chose such a good time.’
Leng San laughed in his mind. Previously he was worried that the price he was going to quote was too much for Su Songyu to consider buying.
“Take me there!!” Su Songyu stood up from his chair and cupped his hands to Leng San to excuse himself.
“Elder Su, can I accompany you? With my medical knowledge, I might be able to help,” Leng San proposed to follow Su Songyu.
“Please do so, master Li Mu.”
Both of them hurried to Su Zhao’s room. Once they reached the room, Su Zhao was banging his head against a column. Two instructors of the Fire Fortress Sect were holding Su Zhao back. Despite having green qi, Su Zhao couldn’t do much to resist the two instructors with blue qi with his handicapped body. Leng San couldn’t be more amused as he looked at Su Zhao.
‘This old geezer is such an attention whore. How would he die by banging his head to the column with his defensive green qi activated? It seems that he had really become an outcast of the sect or else he wouldn’t throw such a tantrum.’
In reality, before Leng San met Su Songyu, he had secretly bribed an inner disciple of the Fire Fortress Sect for one million gold coins to tell Su Zhao, secretly, about the Divine Leg.
Su Zhao knew this was his only hope. Being the city’s fool for one year had done a lot to his mental state. Only a tiny stimulant would have pushed the old man to do anything to redeem himself. The entire chain of reaction was cleanly anticipated by Leng San.
“Su Zhao, calm down. Why are you doing this to yourself?”
Su Songyu went to calm Su Zhao down. The old man was apparently worried about his only little brother. As an older brother, his heart was torn as he witnessed his younger brother harm himself.
“Brother, I...I am so useless. I am such a disgrace to the sect. I’d rather die than continue to live without hope,” Su Zhao, at the age of fifty, looked at his brother with sorrowful eyes, as tears started swelling up.
Leng San wanted to roll on the floor and laugh after seeing Su Zhao.
‘After I go back, I might have to mold the adamantite into a doll for him. Hahaha.’
Su Songyu felt pained by the words of his younger brother. He let out a sigh and glanced at Leng San.
“Master Li Mu, I will buy the Divine Leg for two hundred and fifty million gold coins. I hope you would kindly sell it to my sect at this price.”
“It’s a deal!! Thank you for your patronage.”
Leng San cupped his hands and bowed as a sign of gratitude. Su Songyu then ordered his men to go and gather money from the sect’s businesses in the city, taking over two shichen. They were able to gather one hundred and eighty million gold coins. After that, they took a loan from the Xiaolin Sect for the remaining seventy million gold coins. It could be said this was all the money the sect currently had. They were also in massive debt, on top of that.
Once the transaction was completed, Leng San returned to his drugstore with a vile grin. He was still excited that he just earned a fortune by selling a crappy prosthetic leg!!
“Haha, it was successful!! Now I have enough money to use without worrying. There is no way the Fire Fortress Sect will be able to buy the runic weapons if I were to sell them.”
“Sigh...you’re truly a danger to all kinds of living things. Your ability to manipulate others at will is even scarier than the Azure Dragon’s soul.”
Freya grumbled as she sighed.
“I am grateful for your compliment,” Leng San grinned.
“That wasn’t a compliment!! Hmph, so what are you going to do next. Are you going to sell runic weapons?”
“I will sell them, but not in the near future. I have more than enough money, for now, so there’s no need to be in a hurry to sell them.”
Leng San brought out some adamantite from his dimensional storage. It took him five days to create two vambraces, two greaves, and one body armor from the adamantite. Each and every piece was delicately molded with utmost care. Their thickness was not any different from normal clothing. The boy tried them on and wore clothes on top of them to not appear suspicious. After that, he had to consider which kind of rune he should inscribe onto each protective gear he created.
There were seven types of rune that had been leaked out to the public.
One. Throwing type. Adds damage to long-range attacks.
Two. Shooting type. Adds accuracy to long-range attacks.
Three. Strengthening type. Adds damage to slash attacks.
Four. Mobility type. Reduces friction and weight.
Five. Durability type. Uses on defensive gears.
Six. Exploding type. Explodes ten times the power of the rune.
Seven. Dimensional type. Uses on dimensional rings for storage purposes.
Out of these seven types, the exploding type was the most powerful offensive rune. Its power depended on the color of the rune and the size of the adamantite. However, that runic weapon would be destroyed after the explosion. Thanks to limited resources, this type of rune wasn’t popular.
Leng San decided he was going to use a rune that wasn’t included in the seven types above with an attribute unknown to the general population. It took him three days to invent three new types of rune that he would inscribe onto his vambraces, greaves, and body armor. And all of these gears would be inscribed with a green stage rune. He would wear normal clothes on top to conceal them...
