Chương 29: Trouble brewing.

"Grandpa, I missed you so much. you did not tell me you were back in the country." Diana muttered sidestepping her mother to stand in front of her grandfather, she had a wider smile than her mother had on her face.

She was clothed in a white flair gown and white heels that gave her the looks of an angel, and her hair was curved and left open. Diana turned towards the rest people after greeting her grandfather, "First brother, second brother it's so nice to see you." Diana said the smile on her face had not yet been wiped off.

Old man Josh rolled his eyes, he could already feel a headache coming in on him. He glanced toward Abigail who had a polite smile on her face, he could not help but feel pity for the girl in advance. His so-called family was going to try and make her life a living hell today.

Elias and Elijah did not bother in responding to Diana's greetings, they both held a placid looks on their faces. Diana stared at Abigail from the corner of her eyes, she had not extended her greetings to the so-called wife of her brother on purpose. She did not see any reason to greet a low-class woman.

Diana's mom still held the same thoughts in her head, she did not see any reason to greet her supposed daughter-in-law. "You are looking so gorgeous Father, you do not look old at all." Diana flattered the old man, the pretentious smile on her face was growing wide.

While the family was busy filtering out who to greet and who not to greet or pay attention to, Abigail had figured out another of her culprits. it seems it wasn't just the annoying actress but the sister of her husband who was involved, a mocking smile appeared on her face that she didn't try to hide.

Elias stood up and stretched his hand to Abigail ready to leave from there, he wasn't tolerant of his father and his wife and their daughter too. "Grandpa, Abigail, and I will go and get some drinks. She seems thirsty, aren't you?" Elias muttered and asked at the same time piercing his gaze into her.

"Yes Grandpa, I happen to be very thirsty now. We will be back soon." Abigail replied standing up and holding onto Elias's hand. Old man Josh nodded and waved his hand at them to leave.

Meredith wasn't satisfied with the situation just yet, she had not even gotten a chance to bully her new daughter-in-law just yet. "Where are you going son? Why don't you introduce your wife to us? She did not even bother to greet us." Meredith chirped flashing a fake smile.

Elias cocked his brows and his expression turned completely cold, he hated it whenever the woman spat the term son out of her mouth. He felt completely disgusted by it, he did not reply to her words but instead took a step ready to leave.

"Brother not just mother, introduce your wife to us. it seems she has a lot of pride in not being able to do so herself, Why don't you introduce her to us." Diana muttered gritting her teeth and silently implying that Abigail was rude.

Elias did not turn back to listen to her words but Abigail held his hand tighter stopping him from walking further, she flashed him a mysterious grin before turning to face his family. She flashed them a polite smile and bowed her head, "Father-in-law, it's nice to meet you. You look more handsome in person, I am Abigail Elias's better half."

Abigail spoke while omitting Diana and her mother from her greetings, she didn't see the need to be polite to them. Elias's father smiled at her, what a courteous girl he thought in his heart. "Nice to meet you too dear, I can see you have a very nice attitude. I couldn't wish anyone better for my son." Elias's father remarked.

Elias and Elijah both had their brows raised when they heard his words, their father was never one to speak to people lower than him that nicely. Old man Josh couldn't help but stifle laughter, he could see the confused look on his family's face. It was his own doing after all.

"Father, your granddaughter-in-law does not recognize her mother-in-law and sister-in-law. She seems not to know anything too." Meredith muttered feeling offended that Abigail cut her out from her greetings.

Before anyone else could open their mouths, Abigail quickly spoke "I am so sorry, my bad. I did not know who you were because you see, my husband here only talks about his father and not about other unnecessary members of his family." Abigail replied flashing them puppy eyes.

A crack appeared on Elijah's stony face, it seems his brother married a spitfire and not a delicate flower. Old Man Josh also held himself back from laughing out loud, he found more reasons to like his dear daughter-in-law.

"What do you mean? Are you trying to say we are unnecessary members of the family? Are you making us seem irrelevant now?" Meredith questioned in anger, the smile has fallen from her face already. She grits her teeth and clenched her hand making her nails pierce into her palm.

Diana's expression turned slightly unnatural too, she frowned but tried her best to his her. 'So what if brother's low-class wife has a sharp tongue? She would be unable to talk soon anyways, very soon she will feel all itchy and then she will be embarrassed ' Diana thought her heart arrogantly.

Abigail could feel Diana's gaze on her dress, she cocked her brows and then a thought flashed into her mind. 'It seems my dear sister-in-law had prepared a gown for me, too bad I prefer my gowns tho.' Abigail thought.

"That's enough. The reception party will start soon, I do not want any family dramas today not here at least. Get yourself together Meredith." Old man Josh scolded before standing up on his feet.
