Not to be outdone by my betrothed, I hefted my glowing stick of destiny over my shoulder, and with a rallying cry of, "Let's kill him properly this time," to put us in the hunting mood, Liara and I launched a flurry of attacks against Fenrisúlfr that we hoped would finally bring it down. No such luck. 

"The power of violence compels you!" I swung the glowing stick of destiny at it with all my might, again and again, staggering the demon wolf with each blow but failing to connect with another 'Lightning Bolt' that could've shed off its fur like last time. "The power of violence—"

No, I didn't think this new catchphrase was getting old. It fits the situation too well. 

Anyway, the reason I couldn't finish my sentence was because the demon wolf attacked me with its claws, but none of those sword-sized monstrosities hit me because Liara blocked each would-be-critical blow with her new Svalinn. 

"One more time!" she said.
