Senator Louie and the members of the opposition were taken to prison for their crime of rebellion. As the instigator of the coup, Senator Louie was sentenced to life imprisonment while the others received heavy sentences.
The battle caused a huge commotion in the shelter so everyone knew what had happened. When the people heard that the corrupt politicians were punished, they were satisfied. Because of those greedy officials, they received less and less support from the government. This caused many of them to feel sick and a few people even died because of the lack of medicine.
On the second day since the coup, President Manuel Chavez announced that they would increase the food assistance given to the citizens. He also mentioned that the government would offer more jobs to the public. A new monetary system was also introduced to the people.
