As soon as dawn broke, Fang Li, was already awake.

Lying in bed and looking up at the unfamiliar ceiling, Fang Li thought to himself, "I haven't slept in this late for a long time."

The Nanaya Clan, a reclusive group living in the mountains, was known only to a select few high-ranking officials around the world. The clan members rarely ventured out into the world, and their knowledge of the outside world was limited to what they could glean from books.

However, Fang Li's reading was not just for knowledge, but for pleasure as well. His only hobby in the clan was reading detective fiction. Aside from that, his life was purely focused on training.

This was why Fang Li eventually decided to leave the Nanaya Clan. He had already learned all there was to learn, and his only remaining hobby was reading detective fiction. What purpose was there in staying in the clan any longer?

"Still, I need to keep up with the basic morning practice to keep my body from getting stagnant," Fang Li thought to himself as he got out of bed and began to wash up.

Fang Li didn't notice at first, but someone else was also running in the morning and steadily gaining speed behind him. The person's eyes had a hint of surprise and contemplation. After a while, the person caught up and ran alongside Fang Li.

Fang Li turned his head and saw a slim upperclassman wearing glasses and sports attire. The upperclassman spoke with an intellectual and calm voice. "you are not feeling tired right? Want to have a competition?"

Fang Li didn't ask any questions but calmly replied, "How do you want to compete?"

Without hesitation, the upperclassman suggested racing to the school premises, which was about a kilometer away. Fang Li agreed with a nod, and without another word, they both took off with a bang.

The wind whistled past their ears, and their footsteps fell like raindrops on the ground. They passed the school's sports facilities, running at an alarming speed towards the school building.

"Quick, look over there..."

As the students in club activities gathered around, they witnessed the scene before them, completely stunned.

"Wow...they're so fast..."

"Unbelievable..."

"Even track and field club's athletes can't run this fast right?"

"Who are those two people?"

These sport club members, who were extremely sensitive to movement, chatted among themselves in astonishment. Some were even more dismayed when they saw the Senpai who raced with Fang Li.

Senpai's breathing began to rush, and his forehead was covered in sweat, due to running at an extreme speed for too long. In contrast, Fang Li was neither slower nor faster than the other, and his breathing was still smooth with a calm complexion.

Even Senpai could see it, Fang Li was not serious.

The two arrived at the school building almost at the same time, but one was short of breath and the other was not. Facing this situation, Fang Li only shrugged.

"It doesn't seem like a win."

After that, Fang Li took a step and was ready to leave. Before leaving, a voice came from behind.

"My name is Horikita Manabu."

Even with shortness of breath, he made an effort to maintain a cool voice and spoke from behind Fang Li.

"What is your name?"

Hearing this, Fang Li replied with one sentence.

"Nanaya."

Speech finished, Fang Li left.

"Nanaya...?"

Senpai, named Horikita Manabu, wanted to write down the name and read it several times. He left shortly afterward.

This was just a small episode that took place on the first day of the semester, but it was spread through the Club staff who witnessed the scene. On that day, a rumor circulated through the school.

"The Student President raced with a new student in a morning practice and couldn't win."
