If it was the former, then trying to locate the missing party following the trail of marks along the wall would prove to be somewhat futile. Multiple walls with multiple markings might possibly double back on itself, making the trail branch out in ways that there was no way for her to follow. If it was the latter, then she effectively had a timer before either one or both members succumbed to their injuries.

She wasn't sure which was worse to think about. Was her brother languishing away somewhere within these walls? Starving, cold, looking absolutely lost? Or-

*Slap!*

No! She shouldn't be thinking of such things!

Giving herself a small reality check in way of slapping herself, Lise shook her head to clear her thoughts before pressing onward; the flame of her torch barely lighting the path as each step mulched the soft ground underneath her feet.

"I'll find you, Brother," she promised to herself. "I'll save you..."
