"B-Big Brother?"
"Lucas... you're back?"
Kevin and Linda's expressions were almost the same. From confusion, they morphed into joy. None of them foresaw Lucas coming home tonight.
Lucas was caught off guard by how his mother and younger brother greeted him. Kevin was the one who opened the door. Right after his brother saw him, Kevin shrieked before calling for their mother.
"Oh... hello. Happy Mid-Autumn, Mother, Kevin."
Lucas stiffly waved one of his hands. Even though he no longer hesitated, he couldn't shake off the feeling of awkwardness.
"Come inside! Come in!" Linda stepped away from the door, making way for Lucas to walk through, "Have you eaten? We still have lots of food left."
"Yes, Big Brother. Come in!"
Lucas took off the carrier backpack. Holding it in the front, he quietly muttered, "The thing is... I brought this fella with me too."
