One thing Isla could not take is how her ex-husband shamelessly called Damien his son, as if he wasn't the one who had denied him in the past. Even if she had given him the right to interact with Damien, she had not allowed him to call him his son.

The latter had not done anything that could tell her he was worthy of her Damien as his father.

''I have to go now, your grace.'' She addressed the same way as before their little episode. ''My son is waiting for me at school.'' She looked at him pointedly with her words. 

Shifting her gaze downward, Isla bent down to lift up the baskets, and she bid farewell to her dazed ex-husband.

 Just as she was about to use this opportunity to sidestep him, her wrist was unexpectedly caught and it was obvious who was firmly holding her wrist.

''Your grace should let this commoner go.'' Isla glanced sharply at her ex-husband. So he wasn't in a daze.
