Chương 3: Studying
After about ten hours of walking across the shore, a large yacht appeared. It was docked at the beach.
"This is my research vessel, the Borealis. She's voyaged across the ocean for fifty years. Now come, I want you to meet my crew." Acacia stated before motioning Ignacio to follow his lead.
Ignacio nodded and followed Acacia to the ship and, after arriving, boarded the vessel. Once there, he was brought inside by Acacia.
"Ignacio, I want you to meet Jacob, my lead assistant." Acacia stated before opening a door, and beyond it lay a lab with a few researchers doing experiments.
"Oh, professor Acacia, welcome back. How was your walk?" Jacob asked while putting down a book and walking to the door.
"It went well. However, I want to introduce you to our guest." Acacia replied before smiling.
"Oh, hello, I'm Jacob, the lead researcher here on the Borealis. May I know your name?" Jacob asked while raising a brow.
"I'm Ignacio, and it's nice to meet you, Jacob." Ignacio greeted while slightly smiling.
"Likewise. Wait, is that a Pokémon egg? Where did you get it?" Jacob asked excitedly.
"Ignacio was gifted the egg by a large group of Tentacool he saved." Acacia answered for Ignacio before smiling.
"Oh, that's great. Would you like me to place your egg in the incubator?" Jacob asked.
"Yes, I would. Can you please show me to it?"
"Of course. However, I need permission from the professor first." Jacob stated before turning his head to him.
"It's alright, Jacob, just bring it to his room." Acacia stated with a chuckle.
Jacob nodded before closing the door.
"Ignacio, please follow me. I'll show you to the room you'll stay in." Acacia stated before walking to the right and entering a hallway.
Ignacio nodded and promptly followed Acacia to his room. During the walk, they passed many different locked doors and corridors.
After ten minutes, Acacia stopped before a brown door and opened it before turning to Ignacio and smiling.
"This is your room for the duration of your stay Ignacio. Tomorrow I'll give you a tour of the ship." Acacia stated before getting ready to walk away.
"Wait, professor, do you have a book on what berries in the wilderness taste good and all the moves Tentacool and Tentacruel can learn?" Ignacio asked, hoping his request wasn't too much to mention or ask.
"Why sure, I'll see if I have some. However, when you get your Pokémon license, you will also receive Pokéballs and a Pokédex." Acacia replied while continuing to walk down the hallway.
"Thank you, professor Acacia. I'll make sure to study them well." Ignacio replied before he entered his room and closed the door.
After he turned around, he surveyed his surroundings, and there was a large bed to his left, a dresser right next to it with a lamp.
He continued to look and saw a window near his bed and a closet on the other side of his room. As warm rays of sunshine shone through the blinds, illuminating the room. Afterward, he gently placed the egg on the bed before turning his gaze and saw another doorway with a bathroom behind it.
'This is my home for now, I guess. Though I should shower, I haven't washed in so long." Ignacio thought while sighing as he took off his back, placing it on the floor. Additionally, he looked in the dresser and found plenty of clothes within.
He'd spend a few minutes choosing what to wear before entering the shower.

After thirty minutes, he'd finish showering and getting dressed before walking out in pajamas. However, as soon as he left the bathroom, he saw two books on his bed, alongside the egg. Subsequently, he quickly ran to his bed and picked them both up.
'These look nice. Now I need to study and memorize all of this. My survival is in jeopardy.' Ignacio thought, remembering the various criminal organizations and legendary Pokémon in this world. And that he didn't have plot armor like Ash and his friends.
Once he finished pondering, he carefully picked up the egg and placed it on a pillow before picking up the pillow and putting it on the dresser.
"I hope you'll be comfy." Ignacio told the Tentacool egg before he got into bed and began reading the book about potential moves Tentacool and Tentacruel could learn. And as he did, his expression changed drastically, feeling there was much more information on Tentacool and Tentacruel than anyone in the Kanto region should have.
He saw moves like Barrier, Hex, Brine, etc. He was wondering how Acacia got this information. However, he realized his blunder almost instantly, remembering Acacia traveled the world and probably entered regions not shown in the series.
'I'm going have to see if my Tentacool can learn these when they hatch." Ignacio thought before continuing to read the book.
Ignacio continued to read for three hours straight, wishing to cram as much knowledge as he could. For he knew the term, knowledge is power.
However, once he finished, he immediately dived into the book about berries and fell asleep after binge-reading that book for three more hours.

The following day Ignacio woke up. However, as soon as he opened his eyes, he realized they were glowing.
'Why are my eyes glowing? That makes no sense.' Ignacio thought in alarm before his eyes stopped glowing.
After Ignacio finished his thought, a loud knock sounded beyond the door.
"Ignacio, are you okay? You haven't left your room in fifteen hours." Acacia asked with concern.
"I'm alright. I binge-read both books you lent to me. However, I fell asleep during it." Ignacio replied before looking at the door while smiling.
"Good, I'm glad you're okay. Just know I have the incubator In my hands. Can I come inside?" Acacia asked.
"Sure, come inside." Ignacio replied
After Ignacio gave the go-ahead, Acacia opened the door carefully with one hand while holding the egg incubator with his other arm.
"Here's the incubator, and I'm glad you are rested and alright." Acacia replied before entering the room, and after he did, he placed it on the bed.
Ignacio nodded before walking to the dresser and carefully picking up the egg in his arms before placing it next to the incubator. Afterward, he began smiling as he opened the top of the incubator and set the egg inside.
"I'm glad you're treating the egg with care." Acacia stated
"Why wouldn't I?" Ignacio questioned before picking up the incubator and placing it on the pillow on his dresser.
"Well, I don't know you, but that will change." Acacia replied before patting Ignacio's shoulder.
"Professor Acacia, I'm curious. Can Tentacool ever stay on land for long periods without problems?" Ignacio asked, hoping to seem his age.
"Most of them can. However, some will shrivel up and die if they are on land. Like the ones you saved, however, I believe yours will be able to walk on the land." Acacia responded in a comforting manner.
"Thank goodness." Ignacio replied, grateful.
'I will need to have dual identities in this world.' Ignacio thought remembering that the method he knew to evolve Tentacool into a gigantic Tentacruel would be priceless. And if he showed he had an enormous skyscraper-sized Tentacruel with his real identity. He'd be hounded by team rocket for the secret.
"Are you alright, Ignacio?" Acacia asked.
"Yes, I am, just thinking about the future is all." Ignacio replied while sighing.
"Alright, I hope you enjoy your time here. We'll start the tour in a moment." Acacia stated
Ignacio nodded before getting up and following Acacia around the ship.

Ignacio would spend two months on the ship learning all he could and helping out the best he could. After this duration had passed, a new chapter in his life was about to begin.
