"Have my brother been downstairs since he got back? Anna asked the maids.
"No ma'am. He only requested for a warm cup of tea." Came their reply.
"Paige, could you please check on him once you get upstairs since you stay on the same floor?" Anna pleaded.
"Sure." Came the innocent reply from Paige. She immediately headed upstairs followed by the maids who carried her shopping bags.
Once settled, she rushed a shower to unnerve herself. She had to prepare her mind cause she was about walking into the Lion's Den.
She wore a long strip pink gown that practically covered every skin on her body then a fur slippers. Closing her door gently, she went to her neighbor's room. The door was slightly open. For a second, she wondered if he was serious when he said he'll always leave his door open.
She knocked on the door and got no reply. knocked again, yet nothing. She peeped into the room but saw nobody. So she turned to leave.
"Leaving so soon?" He appeared at the door with a towel round his waist. "Sorry, I was in the bathroom. Come on in." He said opening the door wide.
Paige stepped into the room and she was overwhelmed by it's orderliness and amazing fragrance.
"Is there something you want." He asked not making a move to put on a cloth. Come to think of It, he wasn't looking sick.
"Anna said you were not feeling fine. Something about a stomach upset. How do you feel now?"
"I feel better." He played along realizing that this was what his sister meant earlier. Please sit down. He offered his bed but Paige sat on the single sofa rather.
"I could give you something for your stomach." Paige offered attempting to stand up.
"Not to worry, I'm way better now." He replied.
Then followed by an awkward silence. Simon excused himself. He used the opportunity to open the tranluscent door that led to his wardrobe and changed into a short. The fact the Paige could still make out his nakednes behind those doors didn't bother him.
"Man whore." Paige called silently turning her face away from the door.
"What can I offer you Sunflower? I could offer myself but something tells me you'd reject all this and that will break my fragile heart." He teased.
Paige ignored him. She went ahead to ask the question that have been on her mind for a while now.
"The other day, you entered my room and dropped a bunch of Sunflower on the table. Why did you enter my room without my permission? "
Simon sat on the floor beside her and placed her legs on his lap. "I'm so sorry about that. I just wanted to surprise you" He said and massage her feet. The sensation Paige felt was out of the world. But she was able to wriggle her feet off his grasp.
"Thanks Simon, But, I'm fine. I don't need a foot massage. She said. Just then her eyes caught the picture of young Simon and his father on the table.
"You look just like your father." She complimented.
"Thank you. But, I'm afraid my father is a much better man than I am. He giggled and she joined him because she understood what he meant. He took her feet again and this time without warning he sucked on her toes.
"Mmmmmmm, A rather loud moan escaped Paige's mouth. He didn't stop. He used the other hand to caress her heel and in between her toes.
"Lavender. " he said. "That's the name of your scent. I've been trying to place it for a while now." He said keeping her feet down. He knelt in between her thighs.
"I have something for you. It's a gift." On hearing this, Paige widened her eyes in anticipation. He smiled, dipped his hand into his pocket and brought out a mini box.
"It's an earring. I figured you might want to wear it tomorrow. It's perfect for your skin." He said and gave the box to her. Paige took it with a shaky hand. It was diamond. She have never owned a precious stone.
"Are you sure about this? She asked still in doubt.
"Never been so sure about something." He replied. "Now, let's see you off to your room. He said and led her towards the door. He stopped at Paige's door and watch her step in.
"Sunflower," he called. Paige turned to him. "I've cleared the debt with BFL & CO. I've done my part, I hope you'll be so kind to consider my offer. That's all I want from you." He smiled and left for his room.
