“What is wrong?” Dennis saw that Reynard was standing with his hands in his pocket, He gave off a king-like aura. He looked sexy and handsome.
With his Kingly aura Reynard stood in the middle of the alley, hands in his pocket as his eyes scanned the area. Reynard was gifted with the power to see things beyond, but even after trying so many times he couldn't see who? “How his Mate looked or Where she was”. “The Scent stops right here!”
The mate bond is a very unique and inevitable bond for the wolf clan, Every wolf was destined to have a mate. Except if cursed or somewhat delayed, the wolf finds his Mate after his first shift. However due to his long stay without a mate for so many years, Reynard's wolf was finding it hard to control himself after finally smelling her. Probably due to his demon, Reynard was able to restrain his wolf without effort. However, For some strange reason even his demon seemed enthusiastic about meeting the Mate and also wanted to emerge.
Looking around the alley for anyone's presence, but found none. “I see no one here.” Still looking around Dennis asked “Could you have smelled wrong?
Reynard's wolf and demon both growled at Dennis for doubting them. How could he say the son of Prince of Hell, Ramiel and a descendant of Nyctimus be wrong in smelling his Mate? Isn't that insulting?"

Right then a plump middle aged woman Walks out from an empty store down the alley.
Reynard closed his eyes and sniffed the air again as the Scent got stronger. He could hear the heartbeat of the woman but what seemed odd was there was another strange scent alongside his Mate's scent. “He waited.”
“He could feel the pull, He felt compellingly pulled to her. His wolf was getting impatient.
Seeing that the approaching footsteps belong to a middle aged woman, Dennis's eye widened in surprise.

A handsome, sexy and strong man like Reynard wouldn't be fated to mate with a middle aged woman, right?

Reynard's usually calm and clear eyes suddenly turned a shade darker and his emotions seemed to be in turmoil. “He wasn't in control of himself anymore. “He seemed to be controlled by some external force.
When the woman passed by Reynard, He held her hand and made her stop right in front of him, he pulled her closer and leaned forward.
Is he about to kiss her? Oh No, So Gross!
When Dennis was expecting Reynard to suddenly kiss the middle aged woman, He suddenly leaned forward and slowly bent over to caress the woman's stomach.

She is pregnant? Dennis shook his head. The baby she is carrying is his Mate?

Reynard felt his whole body relax and his pupils returned to it's color at the touch, A sudden current passed through him and all his raging nerves immediately calm.
He sensed the woman's stunned expression and immediately composed himself. He got up and buttoned his suit.

Wait what? He apologized?! Reynard actually Apologized to Someone?! Unbelievable! If one didn't know better they would say this Reynard was a counterfeit. An imposter!
What is wrong with him today? How can the president of Ray Internationals act like this? “First he ran all the way here; In his wolf's form. leaving his car behind just to meet his Mate and now he is demeaning himself, kneeling in front of an unknown woman and was caressing her belly?

The woman recovered from the shock and instinctively moved backwards and protected her belly. “Who are you?

Seeing the great Reynard at a loss for words Dennis Thought to come to his rescue.
Umm... actually ma'am he just lost his wife recently to childbirth, So seeing your baby bump seemed to remind him of them and he mistook you for...."
Dennis swallowed the rest of his words, seeing the deadly glare he got from Reynard.
"Oh, Is that so? The woman relaxed a bit and her gaze travelled from Reynard to Dennis as if trying to detect if they were being truthful.
Seeing Reynard's hollow face the woman felt sorry for him. “You must miss them a lot?
Reynard glared sharply at Dennis for his lame excuse. “Hmm."
“I am so Sorry for your loss, the woman Looked pitifully at Reynard. “I understand how you must feel because I can't imagine what I would do if I suddenly lose her, the woman gestured at her belly with a smile. She patted her belly gently “She is my Life.”
And She is my Mate!
