"So, what do you think about these three tactics? Of course, we will adjust based on the circumstances and Pokemon we face."
Flakes, who was hearing these plans for the first time, was quite satisfied with Haku's carefully laid out tactics for her. With her newfound power, she could easily carry out these plans successfully even though she was still figuring out her new body.
Nicknamed R.A.T, the first tactic was devious, just as Flakes liked it. It is predicated on the success of Flakes's ability to cast multiple moves in secession in a short period. When Flakes enters the battlefield, it goes like this: she will cast Snowscape as quickly as possible. With Snowscape active, her Snow Cloak ability activates, increasing her likelihood of dodging attacks. Furthermore, she will control Snowscape in a way that blows directly toward the opponent, decreasing their focus and accuracy in one fell swoop.
Next, she would cast Aurora Veil, further swinging the fight in her favor as it halves all attacks that hit her. If a shocking attack were to strike her, she would use Protect to shield herself. Otherwise, she would tank it. And now, the third layer consists of using status moves such as Thunder Wave or Will-O-Wisp to hinder the opponent's ability to attack.
Even if it were to miss, most times out of 10, she lands a status move before her opponent lands one on her. Finally, the last part comes in; she constantly uses Hex on the opponent while dodging attacks.
Hex, which doubles in power when the opponent has a status move, would significantly damage the opponent. In the likelihood that the opponent is a Normal Type, Flakes would use Icy Wind to hinder the opponent further and finish them off with Frost Breath.
It is named after the rodent Pokemon that likes to conduct sneak attacks on predators when threatened.
Nicknamed N.I.N, the second tactic involved stealth, another tactic Flakes liked. This tactic would be used when an Ice Type is involved as a Snowscape powered Blizzard would counter the first. When Flakes first enters the battlefield, she uses Double Team. However, it would be a slightly different kind of Double Team, which only a Froslass like her could do. Every fake Froslass hit by an attack would blow up with snow flung into the air. In that situation, Flakes would get in closer and use a status move to hinder her opponent. After this, it would go on like the first tactic.
The last tactic was the absolute failsafe. Destiny Bond would be used in this event, a move that trades the life of one Pokemon with another. When a Pokemon uses Destiny Bond, when either Pokémon's energy runs out, the other automatically gets drained of their energy. Most Trainers avoid this move as it harms the user. But, in the case of a Ghost-Type Pokemon, they adore this movie. It is fun for their mischievous selves.
An excited cry emerged from Flakes as she jumped or floated up and down the room. Her actions said it all; she was in. Ready to inflict as much suffering on her opponents. But first, they needed to get the necessary items.
"Haku, are you ready?"
"Yup, I'll be at the front entrance in a minute."
Ghost Type Pokemon like her can phase through stuff like walls but require much concentration to fly through objects. After a day of experimentation, she could manifest herself in the physical world. As Haku got dressed, Flakes went to grab the shopping list.
With everything they needed, they made their way to the front door. As they did, Flakes was phasing into the floor and ascending upwards. It was a pastime of hers that she enjoyed.
At the front door, Pryce was waiting with them with his Mamoswine at his side. Appearing to know what to do, Mamoswine knelt, allowing Pryce and Haku to climb on top of him. Typically, Mamoswine cannot kneel due to their short and stubby legs. But, for this Mamoswine, its legs were specially trained to do such an act, able to support its gigantic body. The Mamoswine was equipped with a saddle fit for its size, allowing it to carry people and luggage. That is a reason why Mamoswine is so highly regarded in Mahogany Town.
Every winter, heavy snow storms would cover the town in a thick layer of snow so thick that walking in them is considered suicide. Not to mention that the temperature could reach as low as -20 Degrees Celsius, which is way below the freezing point. During these times, Mamoswine is the optimal way to travel and is also used to transport vital supplies in and out of the town. Not only that, but Wild Mamoswine and their species also visit the town during this time. They are employed willingly to help clear the streets of snow, which they do so gladly as long as they are given tons of food.
Pryce's Mamoswine is the strongest in the area and, thus, leads the pack of his wild brethren. Now, he is just used as a mode of transport for Pryce and his family. But he is okay with it. Most Pokemon willingly join Trainer's team because they make them stronger. Having fulfilled his promise, Mamoswine is willing to help his Trainer as long as it is within the realm of reason. With a roar, he easily charged through the thick layers of snow. A roar of a Mamoswine usually symbolizes two things. It warns other Pokemon and people not to venture too far into its territory. Second, it is the proclamation of strength and to steer clear. Haku, who was on Mamoswine, was holding desperately onto the belt that glued him to his seat. He was not enjoying this at all.
Amid this, Pryce was laughing at his grandson's plight. He knew that Mamoswine was itching to run as fast as possible due to how impatient he seemed. And he was right. As he enjoyed the wind that brushed past his face, he looked at Flakes, who was also enjoying it. Flakes was holding onto a belt that allowed it to enjoy the ride. Suddenly, Mamoswine came to a screeching halt, almost tipping over. There were only two reasons why Mamoswine would stop. The first would be something blocking the road. The second would be…Danger.
Unbuckling his seat belt, Pryce went down as Mamoswine knelt.
"Haku! Don't move. Stay where you are." Pryce commanded. Essentially glued to his seat, Haku looked on nervously as Pryce sent out his Jynx.
"Investigate the area."
With those words, Jynx disappeared from where she previously stood. It was snowing quite heavily today, with snow constantly raining on Pryce. But he did not care, even with his vision being entirely blocked. Soon, Jynx returned with a child and a Dratini in her arms. Pryce looked on with horror as they were unconscious. A child was not supposed to be here, let alone being in this weather. Where are her parents? However, this was not the time to think about this as the girl had looked pale, unbelievably so. She was under the effects of severe frostbite, as determined by Pryce. Wasting no time, Pryce commanded, "Jynx, bring me, the girl, and her Dratini to the Pokemon Center immediately via Teleport! Mamoswinecontinuese ahead without me with Haku. I'll meet you at the Pokemon Center."
With those words, they sprang to action. Jynx disappeared with Pryce as Mamoswine got ready. It was time to go full speed. Letting out another roar, he readied his legs for a sprint. And so he did, with speed beyond comprehension for a being his size.
Meanwhile, Haku was not idle. A charging Mamoswine might not be greeted with a warm welcome. The guards might try to stop it.
"Flakes, go as fast as you can to the guard post. Let them know we are coming."
A cry of acknowledgment was heard as Flakes disappeared in the snowy weather.
Please be alright…
Haku prayed to the girl and held on tightly as Mamoswine was out of control.
