Casey shifted in her seat. She had been sitting there for…she actually didn’t know how long and it was starting to hurt. She flexed her numb hands against the bindings that held her to the chair to pump blood to them.
The room she was held in was unfurnished aside from the chair Casey was sitting in and had no windows. A single lamp sitting on the floor lit the room.
She had been brought to the room earlier by her kidnappers. They had ensured that she saw nothing the whole time. She was aware, though, that she had gone up multiple flights of stairs.
She couldn’t escape this. At least, she didn’t think so. If the opportunity arose, she would do her best, but currently, her opportunities seemed slim.
Her only real hope was to wait for Lavinia. If Lavinia could find her, that is.
Casey took a shuddering breath. She had to be brave. What would happen if Lavinia came and was killed by these people?
