"Erebus is the Greek Primordial God of Darkness... you could say Darkness is his primary authority while Nyx's myth states she has minor authority over darkness and the moon... if you think about it that way, doesn't it make sense that Erebus' darkness would be stronger, dear?"
I didn't do wrong in talking this out with Fia, I expected her to give this matter deep thought to me and she didn't disappoint me.
"That's what I thought initially... but then... that incident happened in the netherworld".
There was yet another incident which sparked my senses... that dark dragon that fought the Angel of Death, Azrael during the strife in the Netherworld.
"What incident?" Fia was confused, this matter hadn't been completely disclosed to the public... it happened in the netherworld and no one from the Devil Faction was involved, therefore... it is natural they don't know... in fact, they don't even know it wasn't me whole erased Hades in the end.
"During the attack of the Fallen God Faction to the Underworld; they were also being assailed in the Netherworld... I had turned Hades into a golden sculpture, but that was merely his avatar... his true body was still in the Netherworld and they were attacked by that man, Rizevim".
"Rizevim-sama?!" Fia gasped and covered her mouth the next second, I didn't take offence, although I didn't like her calling someone that either.
"Why would you call him that?"
"He is the rightful heir of Lucifer, not Sirzechs, but him... the man my daughter was supposed to serve -providing that everything went the way it should have. When the original Lucifer perished, he was supposed to take over and have the heir of the Lucifuge Clan as his right hand. My late husband and I served the original Lucifer for thousands of years... Grayfia, our daughter, was supposed to serve Rizevim... but the old satan faction lost and Sirzechs was crowned as Lucifer. To think he attacked the Netherworld... what was his objective?"
The involvement of that man did trigger Fia's attention... although he was the least of my concerns.
"I don't know... something related to someone called Samael".
"S-Samael... could it be...! you must be careful, dear..." Fia's concern flared and she hugged me tightly, I indicated for her to continue since I don't know who this Samael is.
"According to the myths, the Fallen Angel Samael was cursed by the Biblical God and has a potent venom that is extremely effective against Snakes and Dragons... it is said Great Red and Ophis are no exception. Although I don't know why he'd go to the underworld for it or how Samael is involved in all this, you must be careful, alright?"
"Don't worry... I doubt it can do anything against me, but... I will be careful" Even if just to reassure her I told her this and kissed her forehead.
"Samael is not the main concern, though... I managed to watch the event initially from the gold possessed in those gods' garments, Loki and Parvati... once I reached the spot with my main body there was this dragon called Apophis".
"Primal Eclipse Dragon... I thought he was just a myth as well, powerhouses one after another are getting involved in this war... who else was in there?".
"Loki from the Norses, his daughter Hela, his wolf Fenrir... Apophis, Crom Cruanch..."
"C-Crom Cruanch... another monster".
"There was the Angel of Death, Azrael".
"S-So she was there... Annette-chan spoke about her as well, she's also someone you should be careful with, son-in-law... it is said her scythe can reap lives with a mere touch... she is the vane of us devils".
I smirked and kissed her again, she worries too much... although I do admit that woman was remarkably strong.
"This Dragon, Apophis... had a powerful darkness aura and it was just like Erebus. It also had a primordial tint to it... that's more suspicious to me than anything else".
"Why? Apophis' myth originates from Egypt, he was labelled as the God of Chaos, the rival of the Sun God Ra, threatening to shroud the world in pure darkness... just like Erebus, darkness is his authority and he's also quite evil, even labelled as one of the calamities of the world in ancient times"
Fia explained to me in-depth, but I shook my head.
"But that myth is wrong... that dragon is most definitely not a god, unlike Erebus, I don't feel godhood from him, but I feel primordial energy from the darkness he emits, which makes even less of a sense... paired together with Erebus and lastly, Grayfia... I can only be concerned".
"I see, you're right..."
"He shouldn't be able to produce that aura... the same aura Erebus and now even Grayfia are emitting; albeit hers is weaker that those two".
"Do you suspect something is influencing her?" Fia inquired solemnly and I nodded with equal concern.
"I do... I believe she may not be aware of this. That's why I set up this barrier to talking to you... if anything is influencing her, I don't want it to suspect... me forcefully trying to pull this thing out may cause her harm and right now the last thing I want to do is injure her".
I have to stop thinking about the two of us and start thinking about the 'three' of us, after all.
"Do you suspect anyone in particular?"
"I suspect that 'system' and also, Calliope... Destiny... those are the only conjectures I have, there is no one else I can blame, perhaps Nyx... it is also suspicious that her darkness was the only one not different... but an entity like Nyx should not be able to influence Grayfia or Apophis, she's weaker than them".
"If it was really the system, then shouldn't Gabriel be experimenting the same?"
"Huh..."
Fia did raise a fair point.
