Chapter 202: Children
"That's a good question. Where are we going now? We don't know much about this place." Asked Franky.
"Over there, there is a broken wall!"
"There they are!."
"Capture them!"
"We can leave that for later. They found us." Said Nami.
The group went out of the room and saw a large group of masked men running at them.
"Shoot!" The group of masked men pulled out some big guns and pointed them at the Strawhats.
"I'll take care of them. " Sanji gave the head to Buggy to hold.
"Put the gas mask on. Those cannons probably fire sleeping gas too." Advised Vivi.
"Don't you worry, my dear Vivi!.".
Sanji took her hands.
"I won't take long."
"Who's worried about you?!, Just go already!. " Nami kicked him off.
"Let me help you!" Chopper was transformed into human form. He put the mask on his head and ran to the guards.
"Hahaha, me too!" Franky craked his mechanical knuckles.
Canisters of gas came flying towards them but Sanji kicked them back before using his ability to disappear.
"Shit, where did he go?!"
"He must be a fruit user, be careful!"
Chopper started punching men away.
"Kung fu point!"
"Strong right!" Frankly sent someone flying.
Sanji appeared at the back of the group.
"Diable jumble…collier strike!"
"Those guys are strong…" Said the samurai.
"Yeah, they are monsters…" Buggy gave Vivi a passing glance.
"But there are worst ones…"
"We are done, are you girls proud of me?" Sanji came strolling to them.
"Sure, but don't we need at least one continuous one?, We don't know where to go from here." Said Nami.
"No need. This way." Vivi started walking towards several signatures of very varied levels of strength.
'Those have to be the children, the strongest ones are…' She wanted to avoid thinking about it.
They soon reached a door with the words "Cookie room" written on it.
"Here…" Vivi pushed the door open.
Inside the room was a group of several children of different sizes, from the normal child size to something close to a giant.
"Who are you?" Asked one of the boys.
"I don't know these people." Said a frightened girl.
By now, they had removed the stolen protective gear and were wearing their normal clothes. They only kept some of the gas masks as extra protection.
Nami approached a bit "It's okay, we are no-"
"Whoah!, there is a robot!" One of them pointed at Franky.
"Guys, there is a clown too!. Maybe they came for a party?" Another kid said.
"Hey, I'm not a clown!" Shoutrd Buggy.
"They are not frozen people then?" Asked a giant girl.
"Frozen people?, Who are those?" Wondered Nami.
"Robot!"
"Show us your layers!"
"Clown!"
"Come one, shown is some trick!"
The kids surrounded Buggy and Franky.
"You are popular with the kids." Chopper chuckled.
"Are those kids giants? I have never seen giants this young before." Said Franky.
"There are some normal sizes too." Nami points out.
"Oi, kids!." Called the samurai head.
"Have you seen a boy named Momonosuke?!"
The kids looked at the head and became terrified.
"Ahh, a talking head!"
"Scary!"
They started to run away.
"Look what you did!" Admonished Sanji.
They had to run after the kids but they did not go too far as another group of men dressed in protective gear were blocking the hallway.
"What are the kids doing here?"
"Get back to your room, there are some dangerous people here."
The kids stopped in their tracks and started to walk back. Obviously a bit scared of the men.
"More of those guys? This facility has a lot of guards." Nami commented.
"Yeah, this doesn't look like any normal scientific facility." Chopper pointed out.
"Robot!" A giant blonde boy approached Franky.
"You came from the outside, right?"
"Of course. But you see, I'm actually a cyborg. "
"Do you have a ship?" Asked the boy in a hurry.
"The best ship is in the world! The Thousand Sunny. I made it myself!" Frankly answered proudly.
"Then…save us, please!" Said the boy.
This took the Strawhats by surprise. Up until now, they were still thinking the kids were here to be cured of some disease, Vivi being the only one who was aware of the awful truth.
"What do you mean by 'save us'?" Asked Chopper.
"We heard that you were getting some medical treatment." Said Nami.
"Help us, big sis!." The giant girl begged Nami.
"We are not sick anymore. We are all fine!." Said someone else.
"We just want to go home. Please!" Cried the girl.
Nami looked conflicted and looked at Vivi, who hadn't said a word since they saw the children.
"Vivi? what's wrong?".
She recognized the expression Vivi was making, it was the same one she had when they went to Enies Lobby in order to rescue Robin.
'She is very angry…'
"They are not sick…" She said as she walked past the children and looked at the armed men.
"They are not sick?" Asked Sanji.
"The only one sick here is the one experimenting with those children."
"What are you saying? How can you be so sure?" Asked Chopper.
Vivi looked at the kids. She could not say to their faces that they were being used as disposable lab rats to make giants.
"We can talk later about that. For now, we can take the kids out of this nasty place."
"Hey! , how dare you?!. The kind Master would not do something so vile what you said!" One of the masked men shouted at her.
Vivi gave them a cold look."I have no patience for the rest of you…"
Her eyes turned completely white and started to shine brightly as she focused her power. She extended her right arm and the men raised their weapons in response.
"Begone."
Before they could shoot, her arm turned into a torrent of water that covered the entire hallway, not leaving any room for the men to escape.
They were all hit by the blast of water that was more than strong enough to knock them unconscious.
"Wow, you are cooler than the clown!" Said the blond kid.
