Chương 6: Jealousy ?
West city in Asgard.
Noah and Akane walked side by side in the streets of this fantasy like city. Due to the textures being almost realistic, it looked something right out of a fairy tale. As many players and NPCs alike, were walking along the streets talking and chatting. Occasionally, some NPCs can be seen running or walking while hiding hands like lovers.
Noah has already planned a meeting with a group of players beforehand, he was planning to pk them, so, it's better if they were up to his standards, so, he baited them using his level 70 mage build.
Every party in the game needed damage dealers, magic castors. And who can be more efficient of a magic castor then Noah ? He has already made some connections beforehand and they trusted him, and accepted his request to let him come with them in a dungeon raid.
At this time of the game, most of the players were very low leveled and mostly around level 50 - 60. So, finding a level 70 magic castor was pretty hard for small clans. Because most of the high leveled players joined larger guilds, instead of small clans. The reason ? They had more opportunities to go into higher dungeons and get higher rewards.
" Noah, what kind of clan is it that you are going to pk ?" Akane asked bored due to having nothing in the streets, even though Noah felt it was a good view, he knew that his sister would rather look at him, then looking at this beautiful scene.
" It's a small guild, consisting of 12 members.." Noah said, as he saw the spot of the meeting they planned.
" Is this clan all female ?" Akane asked, her voice was a little annoyed and cautious, but Noah didn't paid any heed to that and answered truthfully.
" No, they do have female members, i assume. But most of the members should be male."
" Then it's alright." Akane heaved a sigh of relief.
When they arrived at the meeting spot, it was actually a tavern. A tavern that was luxurious. Yes, like fantasy animes but more better.
As Noah opened the door, he saw a group of people sitting on the back of the room chatting with each other. There were in total 12 people. Their appearence and equipment matched the one Noah has seen in thier profiles.
Akane followed behind Noah, as he approached the group and greeted.
" Hello, I'm Noah, the arch Mage, who had the privilege to join you in your raid."
Seeing Noah, suddenly greet them out of nowhere, all the guild member's remained silent looking at his appearence that was breathtakingly beautiful. Despite him wearing a mask, Noah's avatar was still ethereal looking to anyone that saw it for the first time.
" Ah! You are the Noah boy, who said he can spam Tier 9 spells 10 times ." One of the players shouted, He was wearing heavy armour and was holding a shield on his side.
Noah noticed that most of the group consisted of heavy hitters with sword and shields. He can only spot two mages and two what he assumed were supporter classes, either priests for healing or some other classes for buffs.
He saw that among the 4 of them, the mage and priests were all females, one of the girls sitting beside the four chatting with them, before he arrived was also a female. but from her dress that was a light armour, designed with a female in mind, and the two swords dangling from her waist, he assumed, she was a dual sword damage dealer.
Noah was pretty curious, why there were so many girls in this group, even in the most famous guilds there weren't many girls. Girls mostly preferred other type of VR games, rather then Yggdrasil. But the main reason was for girls having their own guilds that they preferred. In the name of feminism they made guilds only centred towards female member's. There was nothing wrong with that, but Noah felt it was pretty cringe to creat a clan or a guild for only one members. But he had nothing against them.
" Yes, I'm the one that has such bold
Claims. " A smirked emoticon appeared beside Noah, as he took a seat, Beside the blonde haired priest. Her avatar flinched for a moment, before it resumed looking down at the game panel that was before her.
" She is my sister, Ange. She is a paladin, she can cast healing spell also do physical damage." Noah said, as he introduced Akane to the group.
Akane looked at the group once, before she greeted them, " Nice to meet you." Akane then sat beside Noah, after that the group started chatting and discussing about the boss they were about to fight.
Noah didn't wanted to join the chat. So, he just sat there silently. No one said anything to him, except the occasional words he exchanged with Akane. Everyone was curious, why he was wearing a mask, including the priest girl that was to the left of Noah. She didn't knew why but she was feeling very embarrassed and at the same time excited for some reasons.
No one, however, asked him the reason for his mask, assuming it to be his Hobby and character design. They left it at that
While Noah didn't joined the chat, he can hear their voices due to the hearing mechanism of Yggdrasil. You can block them, only by using some magic or items that block sound. Right now, there were none at use. Noah can hear them clearly discussing about the attack pattern of the boss, he felt like laughing, he can't wait to see their reaction when they finally beat the boss they so desired to, only to find themselves facing the hidden boss. He was feeling excited.
While Noah was thinking about this, he heard someone's voice calling him from the side.
" Uhm.. is that [Ring of Mana Reduction] ?" the voice that came form his side was from ghe blonde priest that was wearing white and golden attire holding a staff in her arms.
If not for the stoic avatar, Noah would've definitely assumed she was priestess of some chruch.
" Yes, it is. " Noah replied, wondering why the girl was talking to him. Although, he already had some speculations.
" I've seen that before, one of my friends have it, but she got it through a gacha, a very rare gacha and she said, that she used all of her life's luck to pull it. Uhm.. if it's not rude, did you also got it from the gacha ?"
" Yes. I've wasted over 3000 pulls, before getting it. My inventory was filled with Mega slime Core and Heavy Hitter card that day. Sigh~" Noah said with an audible sigh at the end. lying was like breathing to him so he did.
" I see.. you must be pretty rich." The priestess said before noticing that she hasn't introduced herself. " Ah sorry. I forgot introducing myself. I'm Nami, nice to meet you. "
" Nami San it is. Nice to meet you. " Noah replied, before continuing " do you also play gacha ?"
To his question, Nami replied with a smile. " I tried, i wanted to get that [Ring of Mana Cost Reduction] but even after 100 pull, i wasn't able to get anything but mega slime Core and The humpy grass. Agh!!" By the end, Nami started waving her head trying to remove that memory out of her head.
" Ah... It seems like you've wasted a lot of your money. Are you independent enough to have leisure over using so much money ? I mean.. 100 pulls of that gacha would've been very expensive. Wouldn't it ? Forgive me if my question seems rude though."
When Noah asked about Nami's personal life, she didn't hesitate before replying.
" I'm an independent women, don't worry. Despite my avatar, I'm still 24 years old working adult, who can pay for her things." Nami said jokingly even.
Noah nodded at her words, " Atleast you are responsible enough. I used my parents money, so, i don't have any excuses. "
" Hehe... Your parents must be rich to let you use that much money without any concern." Nami laughed a little.
" Yeah, anyway.. your staff. That staff has a very peculiar gem there. Is it [Chrono Stone]?" Noah asked pointing at the staff Nami was holding.
" Yes! I used almost all my bonus to get that [Chrono Stone] and crafted it with the help of a craftsman friend of mine. It took me a lot of in game and in real money to get. " Nami spoke, while rubbing her face on the staff. " This staff is my life."
Noah's eyes twitched, even though his avatar remained same looking at the weird priestess.
After that conversation ended, they continued talking about different gacha items. Noah was however, also taking glances at his sister beside him, who was getting bugged by the dude in front of her.
" Hey Ange San. Do you have a boyfriend ?"
" I don't.." Akane replied flatly.
" Hmm. Why ? How old are you ?"
" 20." Akane said.
" Woah! I also turned 20 this year. Damn! " the guy who's name was Brandon, shouted in excitement before saying " Maybe this is fate!?"
Akane was a very intelligent girl and she didn't have any problem with talking to others. However, she also had a very simple personality, she was only interested in talking to Noah most of the time and only paid attention to him. Because, she didn't like to talk to anyone beside him. It might sound exaggerated, but it was not. And despite her avatar showing no annoyance, Noah can hear from her voice that, Akane was growing to snap soon.
However, to his contrary. Akane, suddenly started to laugh, as she talked with the guy, who's name was Brandon. He was a samurai with a katana in his back.
" So, Ange San likes anime, i also love anime."
" Yeah.. i particularly like fantasy anime, that's why i like playing Yggdrasil with my brother. "
" Oh? Is your brother younger then you?".
" Yes he is one year younger then me."
" Woah! So, you are a very good sister who looks after her brother. I also always wanted a sister, But unfortunately my parents never made one for me, Haha." Brandon laughed with a comically laughing emoticon appeareing beside his face.
" Children can be hard to raise sometimes after all. But I'm truly grateful to my parents for giving me Noah." Akane's last words came out with genuine gratitude and heartfelt emotions, that even Brandon was able to notice.
" Ange San talks like a mother, you must have a really good relationship with your brother. Haha."
Hearing the conversation that was turning merry, Noah's heart was burning with a little bit of rage. He knew very well what he felt and why he felt. He was feeling a sense of hatred for this guy, named Brandon and possessiveness for Akane. His heart was burning with the desire to just kill the guy who was talking to Akane, like he knew her. He knew, it's just her being friendly with another guy, but his heart was not calming down, so, he did what any sane person would do. Leave the room to calm himself.
" So, i decided to give her that gacha item, i found after wasting all the money as a gift, but she said, she found a better alternative to make her sword. It trully pisses me off!"
"Sorry Nami San, i forgot, i have to buy something. I'll be back in a minute." Noah said before he got up and left the room.
Akane obviously noticed this and wanted to go with Noah, but she was just trying to make him jealous a little. She thought it'll be a bad plan, if she would go after him right now, so she just uninterestedly replied to the guys questions. While thinking about why Noah left.
As for the guy, All she was feeling for the guy was disgust. Maybe it was inherent to her because of her mother, who also had particular disgust towards anyone but her father. Although their situation is not similar, it's quite the same.
Akane wanted make Noah jealous, but just being apart from him for 2 minutes had made her heart fragile and ache, she was seeking his presence looking at the gate of the tavern every 2 second like a robot. It was as if, she was losing a piece of her soul with every passing second that Noah hadn't returned. Her heart was beating fast by every passing second.
Maybe it was her fault ? Did she made him mad by making him jealous ? Should she apologize ? Did he logged out ? Would be hate her now ? What if he stopped talking to her ? What if he started ignoring her ? What if he left her here because he didn't liked her talking to this guy ?
Akane was cursing herself for doing something as stupid as Making Noah jealous. She knew he can be possesive sometimes, and she loved it. She loved it too much, and she just wanted to see him like that again. But she didn't knew it would take an adverse effect. Her avatar may look calm outside but inside, she was already crying and sobbing.
10 second after Akane started crying in her heart, regretting her decision to even bother talking to the guy. Noah entered the Tavern. But before he can even take a seat.
" Ah! Noah, Came back! Let's go now. We have taken a lot of time here discussing the strategy." The clan leader said, when he saw Noah entering the place.
Akane, finally seeing Noah entering the meeting place felt her heart at ease, as she ignored the guy asking her questions all together and walked towards Noah. Standing beside him, holding his hands.
Noah looked at Akane, who was again by his side and heaved a sigh of relief. But his heart didn't calm. No! not untill he made sure each of the players in this clan will be level 1 again.
An evil yet soft smile that didn't showed on his avatar has already formed on Noah's face, as he looked at Akane, who was now by his side. A disaster was going to fall upon the guy named Brandon, that was for sure.
