Chương 206: Destiny beckons -202

Tony Stark was someone whose fate really had been changed big time by Alexander and the Foundation, much like Bruce Banner.

The only part of his story that hadn't been changed was the fact that he was still kidnapped, but pretty much everything from that point on had been largely different from the path he would have followed without Alexander.

For one, his fight with Stane had been rather climatic; using the new arc reactor he had been given by Alexander and using tech and systems learned from his study of SCP-079, he had completely outclassed Stane.

So, the fight that should have been close, one only won due to blowing up the large arc reactor, had been dealt with rather easily, and the arc reactor hadn't been blown up.

At least he still announced himself as Iron Man to the world and began a new age. Many weren't likely aware of just that, but Alexander was fully aware of what his announcement had started.

Alexander knew that all around the world, people were pushing their own technology to make something that could either make them a hero or a villain, or people with powers were starting to think about coming out in the open.

Or Just coming out wearing a mask, already the Foundation had captured at few people. However, they were all people he had never heard of before, which likely meant they weren't featured in any media.

Tony had really shaken up the world with his announcement; even in this world, there were comics about masked superheroes, not as many as back in the higher dimension, since here there were a few real-life heroes and villains to use.

But there were still plenty of masked sidekicks for Steve and others; even here, the idea of a hero hiding their true identity was deeply ingrained in the population.

So having the first modern day superhero some out and tell the world who he is was a shocking development.

Still, Tony's own path was far different than it would have been in his original timeline; at this point in time, he should have discovered the fact that his reactor was slowly killing him. Making him look for a cure.

After failing that, he started losing it, handing over everything he owned to others on random whims. All of these eventually led to the events of Ironman 2—all things that weren't at all happening now.

With the new reactor already in his chest, one he had further improved, he didn't have to take as many wrong turns and was already well on his way to making suits that wouldn't appear in the events of Ironman 3 or even later.

And while this could potentially have changed a lot about the future, such as his relationship with Pepper Pots, it hadn't. in fact, that was progressing far faster than it would have done without Alexander's intervention.

Indeed, everything was going well on that front, even if Tony was still rather annoying to deal with, he needed a few more setbacks to fully become the man he had in the movies, but Alexander had a few plans for more controlled events.

He didn't want to risk Tony doing something stupid with that brilliant mind of his, so he took the advice of a team of skilled psychiatrists on how to deal with the man.

Another brilliant yet troublesome mind was that of Hank Pym. Someone Alexander had recruited long ago, hoping to add the ant-man family of heroes to his team. Yet he was quickly realizing that it was far too much trouble for what it was worth.

Hank was truly a pain to work with, or so did all staff at SITE-098 say.

He was much like Stark, someone who believed themselves to be the smartest, and didn't want to listen to others.

That hadn't been much of a problem before when they worked on general applications of Vibranium. He wasn't a master in that field, and it had likely helped to tone down his arrogance.

Now that he wanted to study things he believed he understood, he had become increasingly arrogant about it.

Alexander had given him a chance not long ago, he had the staff at the SITE arrange for him a test, one he had failed in a spectacular manner. And as such, it was time to take action.

He checked his watch and saw that it was nearing the time to depart to SITE-098 and go pay the man a visit; he owed him at least that much.

As Alexander made his way to the transport, his mind wandered to the potential impact of his interventions. While his goal was to create a controlled environment for the emergence of heroes, he couldn't help but ponder the ripple effects. Stark's success had indeed inspired a new wave of technological advancements and emboldened individuals with powers to step into the light.

The jet that was supposed to take him there could hardly even be called a quinjet anymore. It had seen countless upgrades since he had gotten them. While the Foundation still used many crafts like them, he himself used something so much better.

The craft was sleek in design and silvery and with a purple hue to it. The Foundation was busy making near-limitless amounts of Vibranium with SCP-294. And they had made massive technological breakthroughs with the metal.

It was no wonder that Wakanda had managed what they had with a limitless supply. It truly was a wonderful material.

This jet was able to fly without a single sound, and the vibranium was able to absorb the vibrations perfectly. It was also strong and durable, able to withstand almost anything thrown at it.

Furthermore, it wasn't easy to even attack it at all; gone were the old stealth tech of Shield, and instead, it had the same kind of camouflage as Wakanda, able to make the craft entirely invisible to both the naked eye and all kinds of sensors.

And with the newest arc reactor technology, thanks to Tony Stark, the jets didn't even need to stop for refueling; they were able to fly without pause as long as the pilots could handle. This meant that the air around his mansion was always covered with a few invisible jets like that, ensuring his safety.

Now, a fleet of them would be taking him to meet with the Antman, the one and likely only one.

[SITE-098]

[With Hank Pym]

Hank had been growing increasingly frustrated with how slowly things were moving with his research, not that he wasn't able to get the results he wanted, but he was able to move far beyond what the Foundation could; no, his headache came from the fact that others slowed him down.

He was constantly stopped and told to wait for approval, sometimes for days at a time, for the smallest thing as well.

He appreciated their approach to safety, but there could also be too much of a good thing when medicine became poison. This was very much into that situation. He constantly felt his progress being hindered; time and time again, he was slowed down.

Time and time again, he was forced to break the rules and work on his own to see a little progress; if not for that, he would likely have taken months to reach this point.

And even this point was something he felt he could have reached in half the time if it wasn't for all the damned red tape slowing him down.

Wasn't the whole point of working for a black tech organization that it meant they wouldn't have to deal with all the red tape? Yet it felt like the Foundation had more rules than anything else; the only thing that the Foundation allowed plenty of was human experiments.

Something that wasn't yet needed for his tests, he would likely have to do that at some point, and he was glad that he would have some of the worst criminals on Earth available to him.

But all that was pointless if he couldn't get to the point where that was needed, which was why he was happy that his countless complaints finally seemed to have resulted in something; he was informed that one of the heads of the entire Foundation was on their way here to speak with him.

He had spent all day preparing his work so far, explaining his work in a way that hopefully even someone without any scientific background would be able to follow and, more importantly, understand the importance of his work.

"Dr. Pym, the Overseer, has arrived at the SITE; they are currently talking with the SITE director and will speak with you after; please follow me to the interview chamber." A guard said as soon as he entered Hank's office.

Hank noticed that it wasn't one of the normal guards around here; his uniform was far different, and he looked far better as well; the equipment was excellent, and something even the US military would give an arm and a leg for.

"Ah, yes, let me gather my things first." He quickly replied as he got everything he needed and followed the man with the red logo of an arrow and a hand on his shoulder.
