Grayson hadn't slept. He hadn't even left his motel room, in fact. He was committed to finding his client, but the truth was that he had so little to go off of.
Most people spend their lives in complete visibility, whether they know it or not. Yet, so much information is freely available at the touch of a finger.
There was something odd about this case, though. Jude was easy enough to find; he lived in plain view. There was no doubt in his mind that his client could have found him on his own.
So why hire Grayson? He felt like he was missing half of the picture.
He rubs his eyes and sits back from his laptop. If his client was smart enough to conceal his identity from Grayson, it was likely he wouldn't have much information available on the internet. He knew he was dealing with something new here. It felt like he was trying to catch a ghost.
The sound of knocking lurches Grayson out of his thoughts. He looks at the door in confusion, slowly approaching it.
