Chương 10: Chapter 9
"So, what do you want to do with her?" Ethan asked Maestro.
After the mission was completed and he managed to get the assassin he got her to the randezvous point as he was then taken along with the assassin by Maestro's men. They were then taken to a secret facility in the mountains owned by the man. After that, Ethan who is still in his suit met with Maestro and Amelie was taken and strapped on to an operation table.
Many equipments were scanning her and showing the results as Maestro and Ethan were the only ones who were in the room with her. Ethan was confused when he couldn't find any scientists or doctors who would look at the readings, though he also saw that Maestro was looking at the readings.
"So, Maestro, what are you going to do with her?" Ethan asked him.
"What do you think I am going to do?" Maestro asked in response as he looked at the various readings on the screens.
"Either you want to use her as a bargaining chip to an organisation or you want to employ her." Ethan said his thoughts to him.
"Hmm, the first one is appealing but I'm going to go with the second. After I undo what HYDRA did to her that is." Maestro said to him.
"Undo what?" Ethan asked him confused.
"You see these reading from the scans." Maestro asked as he pointed to a screen.
Ethan looked at said screen too see that it is showing the readings of the Assassin's brain. It was showing a good amount of data which honestly confused him as he didn't have the necessary knowledge for it.
"I have absolutely no idea what that is showing." Ethan said to him as he pointed at the screen.
"Hm, well if you look here then you can see that the frontal lobe has been tampered with and then here is..." Maestro said as he started to explain the things that HYDRA did to her brain at surface level.
It didn't help that Ethan didn't get what the man was trying to say as he didn't know much about the human brain, he didn't focus much during his studies at that part.
"Maestro, just because you are showing me what has changed in her brain I have no idea what it does." Ethan said to him.
"Hmm, I suppose. Well, what they did is that they modified her brain so that she would not be able to feel human emotions. It looks like they modified it so that she will only feel pleasure, or if you want to be kid friendly, she will only feel a high whenever she kills." Maestro said to him.
"Wait so, she is unable to feel emotions like happiness, sadness, or any other like that and can only feel pleasure or high. You mean they made it so that killing people was like a drug to her?" Ethan said to the man.
"Yes, and it also seems that they had also suppressed her personality. I'm not saying she is lost, it is still Amelie but her personality was suppressed as they modified her." Maestro said to him.
"How do you know this? Are you a doctor by any chance?" Ethan asked him.
He had taken the man to be a successful billionaire who makes other people do his work which to be honest wouldn't be a surprise. So he was quite shocked when the man ran diagnostic's on the woman and even seems to know about the human body as well.
"No I am not a doctor. But I do know about the human body." Maestro said to him confusing the boy.
"Alright so what are you going to do?" Ethan asked him.
"Simple, I'm gonna undo what HYDRA did to her and then after she recovers employ her for my assignments." Maestro said to him.
"If she decides to continue. From what you said she did those for HYDRA because they modified her brain, how are you sure that she will work for you?" Ethan asked him.
"I'll just have to hope she does." Maestro said to him as he typed something onto a screen as cables attacked to her helmet.
The helmet covered her face as Ethan looked at it.
"Wait, that helmet can be used to modify her brain?" Ethan asked him.
"Yes, it appears to be a brainwashing device which doubles as her equipment as well. It's much more easier and rest assured I had checked it for any virus or anything of that matter and didn't find any of that sort." Maestro said to him.
"Okay, though she has been asleep for an awfully long time. Just what was that gas?" Ethan asked him.
"Something I made. It is strong enough to knock out a human being for 8 hour's. Even her with her modified body is still affected by it." Maestro said to him.
"Yeah about, what is the change in her body? You know, cause of the blue skin and her body is cold, almost like it's dead." Ethan said to him.
"From what I gathered her body has been modified in such a way that it slows her heartbeat's, this gives her more of an edge in sniping as it helps her aim. But as a consequence, her skin has turned blue and much colder than a human beings. Another thing to note is that due to her colder body temperature, heat seeking technology utilising weapons and other similar equipment can't detect her as well." Maestro said to him as he removed his coat.
"So a perfect assassin." Ethan said to him as he watched the man place his coat on a chair.
"Well, time to bring miss Amelie back." Maestro said as he moved to a control panel to the left of Amelie's head.
"You're gonna do it?" Ethan asked confused.
Even though he had a sneaking suspicious the man would he didn't think that he would actually do it. Knowing how the body works does not mean that they are capable after all, they also need the experience necessary. He was thinking that the man would bring in someone who is experienced in the field for this.
"Yes I am. You can either watch what I'm doing or go back and relax in one of the extra rooms." Maestro said to him.
"I'll stay, I want to see what you are going to do." Ethan said to him.
"Alright, then Ethan Hunt. Let me show you my magic." Maestro said to him as he started working.
