Chapter Thirteen
By morning we arrive to a coral colored palace that is partially in the sea. It would be completely underwater if it wasn’t for land visitors. There is a bridge made of sea stone that welcomes visitors and there is every single royal guard standing at the ready.
“A little bit of overkill, don’t you think?” I say to Murrow as they immediately cover their hearts.
“Believe me, your mother wanted more.” He says, flashing me a grin.
“I’m too old for this,” I say as I roll my eyes while I feel every single eye on me, taking me in. Considering I haven’t been here in thirty years, well two years technically, and I’m being escorted by dozens of soldiers and Kia is muzzled, I would be curious too.
“I still think it’s overkill.” I say as I keep my face soft with a small smile.
“Just smile and wait for inside.” Sarian says, giving me a mischievous wink.
