Chương 11: Holy energy

Bheem did three more simulations, In the first one he didn't wait for Arthur to lose control, instead, he attacked Arthur while he was meditating and since his energy was already weak due to the constant erosion of blood energy, Bheem was able to take control of the energy circulation.

He started practicing the holy cross technique immediately as he could feel that Arthur was trying to regain control. The circulation was hard because the sinister force kept trying to change the flow but after a few circulations, the holy cross technique started rotating on its own.

Now there were three types of energy in Arthur's body, one was a colorless energy with no strong attributes, another was a dark red energy with a corruption attribute, and the last one was also the least, dim white energy with a light attribute.

A sinister force with no soul controlled the dark red energy. It was formed from the merger of Arthur's negative emotions and remnant emotions present in the blood energy of fallen enemies. After brewing for a long time, it was really close to converting all of Arthur's energy, when that happened he would be completely demonized.

Colorless energy couldn't fight the dark red energy, and it was only due to Arthur's constant effort it was able to last so long since Arthur might take back control anytime. Bheem tried to use the light energy to refine the sinister force, but it was a bad move.

When a tiger hunts a herd of sheep, most of them will run away immediately even if there is resistance it won't affect the overall picture but if its a pack of hyenas, we can't say for sure who will emerge victorious in the end, in most cases the tiger will flee. But here they were in an enclosed place and fleeing was not an option. Both energies were not compatible with each other there was a violent fight that resulted in an eruption of his blood veins. It was a brutal way to die.

Bheem spend the rest of the time, honing his refining experience and finally killed himself trying to cultivate.

The second attempt was far more successful as he directly left control of the body to Arthur after he created the new energy. Arthur was able to control the sinister force and later went on to completely expel it from his body. The simulation only ended when he died in this fight with Logan, as Demonize skill was not compatible with the holy cross technique.

Arthur was still in cultivation, and Bheem decided to act according to the experience from his third simulation.

He activated Demonize skill and used the sinister force to help gain control of Arthur. Arthur was caught off guard and was not able to defend himself. Then like in his simulations he started circulating the holy cross technique and created a rotation pattern. Once he produced the new energy, he slowly gave away control to Arthur.

Arthur was surprised to find that the other entity was willing to recede on itself, but he noticed that it was still in control of his energy field. He realized that there was a new energy in his body, which was much stronger than his normal energy and it gave him a pure and comfortable feeling. Arthur decided to call it Holy energy.

Another benefit he noticed is that his surroundings seemed to have become more refreshing and energy seemed to be more active in entering his body. Usually, it took a long time for him to collect energy into his body and cultivate it, but this new pattern seemed better at attracting energy.

Arthur took over control of the energy field and started to proceed with the new rotation pattern. He found that the other soul seemed to have receded into his sword. He recalled that his sword seems to have been found in an ancient ruin, it probably was a legendary weapon of the past.

Legendary swords had sword spirits, maybe his sword had suffered some serious damage in the past and the spirit might have fallen asleep and as a result, the sword had deteriorated. Now that he had enchanted it with the blood absorption talisman, it probably revived and how it had repaired itself from its broken stage can be explained by this.

Arthur was ecstatic but now was not the time to think about it, he focused in attention on the energies inside his body. Arthur could sense that the sinister force didn't like this energy very much and was on guard against it. He didn't rashly try to directly clash with the energies but instead kept rotating converting his neutral energy into holy energy.

On the other hand, the sinister force became dormant as it was only activated through Bheem's instigation. The sinister force still was not strong enough to actively control the blood energy all the time.

Arthur took advantage of this situation and started the second round of refining, and expelling the sinister force in his body as he didn't want it to get stronger and eat him.

What he didn't notice is that as he was converting all the energy into holy energy, the sinister force that was expelled was being absorbed by his sword. This was the new technique Bheem perfected in his third simulation.

He used the basic asura path to absorb the sinister force but instead of trying to run the cultivation technique in his body, he diverted it into his scabbard, if one looked carefully they would see that there was a vague engraving on the scabbard that completely covered it.

He used the sinister force and the blood force he had accumulated from earlier simulations to create the nodes needed for the asura path on it. This caused the energy in the sword to start a new round of refinement.

While both master and sword were immersed in their refinement, on the other side of Pato, a merchant caravan was on the roads and on its way to Lumia city. The carriages had the symbol of the Capell family on their bodies. And hence it didn't face many problems in its journey.

Oswin was traveling with them, as Harper sought permission from the Baron. It was a new experience for Oswin, as he had rarely gone out of the village. All his knowledge about the outside world was formed from what he heard from his father and bits and pieces of information he found in the conversations in the village.

Even though he was traveling with a noble, he didn't have to suffer as they didn't have any interactions. Oswin was after all only a poor village boy, even though he had awakened, it had not been a long time and hence the presence of energy in his body was not that eye-catching. Otherwise, the Baron would definitely have been more suspicious of him.

Oswin was not afraid of hard work, so helped whenever necessary. After a few days, he mustered his courage and asked Harper about the mysterious energy that appeared in him. Harper was at first surprised but then he understood as the youth came from a backward village, and he might not know about awakening. He explained to Oswin briefly and then brought him to the Baron.

Victor was surprised to hear that there was a new awakened in his caravan, and this person was just picked up on the road. He called Oswin to him. He saw a young man of around eighteen years of age. He had a slim body and black hair. When he concentrated he could feel that this boy had awakened.

"What is your name?" Victor asked

"I am Oswin, sir" Oswin replied

"Do you know why they brought you to me?" Victor wanted to know if Oswin wanted to be part of his guards.

"Harper said to me that as an awakened, I can join your guards and there will be good pay" Oswin nervously replied after all this was the first time he was meeting the baron, and also the first time trying to get a job. Back in the village, he had to do the tasks as he was part of the family, but he never received any remuneration other than daily food and a place to stay.

"He didn't lie to you, as an awakened you are eligible to join my family's guards, but as you have just awakened are you sure you want to join as a guard. After all, it will be the recruitment season soon, and academy representatives will be coming over to Lumia city. If you wait till you pass out of the academy, you might be able to join a much stronger faction or become a noble yourself."

Victor could see the surprised expression on Oswin's face and could guess that he had no idea about it. He didn't want to fool a youth and ruin his future, as it might backfire in the future.

"I can see you didn't know about it, I think you should wait till the recruitment exam from the academies. If you didn't get into them you can come to join me" Victor offered Oswin.

"Thank you, sir, it is my first time out of the village and I hadn't heard of any academies before" Oswin honestly replied.

"That's because there is no academy located in this corner of our empire as the energy in these parts is much less. In other parts of the world, academies are quite common. In fact, there are even some cities under the control of academies" Victor felt Oswin was a nice kid so he didn't mind giving him some information.

"The energy field that is formed when we awaken is merely a blank paper, and the basic technique you receive when you awaken is not actually optimal. You can use it to absorb energy, and it will also help you create nodes to design a path. If you create nodes using it without any instructions you might mess up your own future.

Many awakeners don't realize that not all paths you inherit are good. Some are very moderate techniques and following them will limit your future. So it is better to join academies and learn cultivation techniques before making nodes in the energy field." Victor patiently told Oswin before he let him go.
