CHAPTER 116 

Pearl gazed up at his face and placed her hand on his chest, to get his attention. When she saw how lost he seemed, she called out to him softly. "Everything okay?"

He looked down at her. His eyes held a sweet smile, assuring her it was fine. "Yes. I am just glad I met you, Pearl."

She returned his smile and nodded at him. "I am glad I met you, Zale."

That was all he needed to hear. The fact that the feelings were mutual was what mattered to Zale. 

Should the time come when they must part, he would need to be sure she still wanted him and only him and push forward with his plans and make a way to have her be his bride and queen of Ashedore.

"Thank you," Zale commented as he led them into the cave. 

As usual, he erected the barrier, ensuring that by no means would anyone disturb them as he laid her on the cloak on the ground.
