"It's nothing." Everly shook her head at him and tried to walk past him, but he grabbed her by the hand, stopping her.
"Everly, what is going on?" He asked, concerned.
Everly halted and lifted her head to look at him.
She took deep breaths, and two drops of tears slipped from her eyes.
"Vincent, you won't—"
"Everly." A familiar voice called her name before she could finish her sentence, and she turned around to see Nix walking towards her.
"Can I speak with you?" He inquired, and Everly gazed at him for a few moments.
"Okay…" She slowly nodded her head, and Nix gestured towards a private room.
They stepped inside, and he shut the door behind them.
He sat down on the sofa, and Everly took her seat on the couch opposite the one he was sitting on.
They stared at each other, and Nix stuffed his hand into the pocket of his suit.
