Mr. Sutherland shot the justices a meaningful and victorious smile.

With a click on the remote in his hand, Benjamin Godwood's biodata and crime record were shown side-by-side on the screen.

"Following the altercation at Caldwell Mansion, we found that the other person who accused Aiden Thompson of the crime was none other than Benjamin Godwood..."

"...which is no longer among us, as I understand it," the Chief Justice commented.

"That is correct. He killed himself by ramming a wooden stake into his own heart," Mr. Sutherland answered almost cheerfully.

"A little unexpected, the suicide," an associate justice commented.

He craned his neck to look at Aiden.

"Is it true that you, Aiden Thompson, accuse Benjamin Godwood of the same crime?"

"That is correct," Aiden said.

"Well, if Benjamin Godwood is truly the mastermind behind this crime, his death is more than deserved," a human associate justice huffed in displeasure.
