Ryan walked into the darkness, a gun in one hand and a blade in the other. Other than the sound of his shoes hitting the floor, there was no other sound. One by one, the doors creaked open and revealed nothing and no one behind them.

Just like Zane said, the castle had been emptied by Organization X.

At the end of the ground floor, a double door stood ajar. The light from a lamp outside painted a golden streak across the dusty floor.

The werepires must have escaped from that other entrance just now.

Hidden in the corner, lurking in the darkness was a smaller door.

Ryan followed his instinct and went through that door. It led him to a vast hall. At the end of it was a huge spiraling staircase that connected the ground floor to the higher floors.

Ryan climbed the spiraling staircase, heading to the next floor. It still carried traces of the ancient castle's past owners, but the floor too was abandoned.

Ryan squinted at the closed doors along the dimly lit corridor.
