The purpose of the control tower is to manage the airport's traffic flow, which is why its formal name should be "control tower," but it's called a control tower because such buildings generally look like towers.
Control towers are usually the tallest buildings at an airport, and their top floors have excellent visibility, making it convenient to monitor the entire airport, so they are generally built very tall. However, Malakal Airport's control tower is different. Because the airport is too small, and the airplanes too small, the control tower is just about twenty meters high and quite small.
Being small has its advantages for the enemy, making it easier to defend, but Malakal Airport's simple control tower is not for a single purpose, which is somewhat luxurious for an airport in an extremely backward region. Therefore, the tower also serves several other purposes, and the top floor doesn't have a 360-degree view, just a lot of windows. The floors below are just regular floors.
