Chương 23: He
~~~~~ Coco Beach ~~~~~
Mr. Hawthorne stood outside his vacation house, a stick of Cigarette in his hands. He was staring silently into the night sky, his other hand hanging on the balcony.
Jace walked onto the balcony of the house, "Uncle, you called for me?" Jace questioned standing behind his uncle.
"Pick up a stick kid, hope I am not interrupting your time with your lovely wife." Mr. Hawthorne muttered with a teasing smile tugging at the edge of his lips, he looked completely different from his prim and proper appearance before people.
"Don't say that Uncle, she just gave birth so I can't possibly spend more time with her. She needs to take care of the baby too." Jace mumbled with a smile on his lips. He picked up his stick as his uncle told him to, lit it up, and placed it on his lips.
"Child you are good, tsk! I wonder why my stupid son can't be like you, he so annoying." Mr. Hawthorne remarked in a cold tone. "If that bastard won't get married, then I think I have to force him to get married." He added puffing air out of his mouth.
"Uncle, I don't think you should force brother. He might end up doing something we might all regret in the end, not overlooking the fact that HE is in town." Jace remarked.
Mr. Hawthorne turned to Jace, surprise was evident in his eyes. "He is back? That's quick, what does he want now? Has he done anything worth attacking him for?" Mr. Hawthorne questioned.
He threw the cigarette in his hands on the floor and smashed it with his foot, "I don't know the reason uncle, he looks calm for the while. I think he wouldn't do something that may end up detrimental for him." Jace explained not to give his uncle any reason to worry.
"I think you should get your hands off these matters now, you have a wife and kid now got it." Mr. Hawthorne ordered in a strict tone. "Uncle....."
Jace trailed off but Mr. Hawthorne interrupted his words, "listen to me kid, I don't you should involve yourself in these matters. I don't want to lose another son" Mr. Hawthorne with a distant expression in his eyes.
"Uncle, stop blaming yourself for whatever happened. It's all in the past now, let's focus on the present and make good memories." Jace mumbled patting his uncle on his shoulders.
"You don't have to worry about my wife and kid too, I will keep them safe no matter what happens," Jace added, his lips stretched out into a pretty smile.
Mr. Hawthorne gazed at his nephew, the painful expression in his eyes diffused into thin air. "Let's go get some rest now uncle, we don't want auntie looking all over the place for you," Jace remarked and he nodded.
They both walked out of the balcony with smiles on their faces, Mr. Hawthorne sincerely hoped everything would be alright. Jace thought he had to see his cousin soon.

The next day came faster than Alix expected, she couldn't catch any sleep throughout the night. She was disturbed and feeling anxious, she hoped he would let her go home.
Alix climbed down from her bed, she had moved back to her room the previous night after dinner. Her hair looks like a bird's nest, she walked into the bathroom to quickly take her bath, brush her tooth and get ready.
After taking her bath, she walked out of the bathroom with a towel on her chest. She paddled her way into the walk-in closet, searched for the clothes to wear, and walked out after getting dressed.
She had on a black gown just a little underneath her knees, packed her hair into a messy bun, and wore pairing black heels to go with the gown. She stood in front of the mirror and twirled around happily numerous times.
A knock sounded at her room door jolting her out of her fantasies, "Coming...." Alix muttered and ran towards the door to open it. When she opened the door, she was met with two maids standing.
"What is it? Why are you here?" She questioned with raised brows, they had weird expressions on their faces.
The two maids both glanced at each other trying to decide who was going to break the news to her, their fingers twirled nervously.
"What is wrong? Did something happen? Why are you so nervous?" Alix bombarded them with questions. She felt extremely nervous that they were behaving like this `is he going to back out of his promise? Won't he let me go back home?`
Alix thought worriedly making tears pool in her eyes, her eyes immediately became watery.
"Young miss, the master asked us to call you down. It's a quite urgent miss." One of the maids mumbled after mustering up enough courage.
"Why?" Alix mumbled her realizing it.
"It seems the missing family is here to take you back home, the situation downstairs is extremely awkward and....." Before the maids could finish their words, Alix was out of their sight.
They both turned and saw Alix running down the stairs in happiness, they sighed before going back to their duties.
Alix ran off immediately after he heard her family was downstairs, and she was filled with happiness and excitement.
Running down the stairs, her messy bun became even messier. When she got to the last stair leading to the living room, a blast of cold air hit her. She immediately felt the chill in the air.
"Oh no, this is not good. Lycan will kill him before he can even talk." Alix mumbled to herself in worry, two chibi versions of herself immediately appeared on her should.
Chibi Angel: Do you think he will get scared just because of dad?
Chibi Devil: No he won't, he won't get scared. After all, he is more menacing than dad.
Alix glanced at the two chibi in confusion, "Alix come here" She heard a cold tone that jolted her out of her thoughts.
