Chương 10: 9

(Grimmjow POV)

How come none of the reporters asked about my Hollow mask? Or were they, but just haven't had the chance to. I realized early on how the reporters' questions started going from mundane to important after a while. Guess that's their strategy...

Let me lower my guard them trap me with a question worded in such a way that if I don't respond, it might as well have been me accepting it as the truth.

I throw the thought at the back of my head and enter Chairman Go Gunhee's office.

"Chairman." I greet with a nod, while inspecting the Chairman's body littered with scars. And all I can say is...

Strong.

Even though he's only S-Rank, I feel there's more to him. Something deeper within him that has true power.

"Take a seat." Go Gunhee says as he points at the couches within his office, prompting me to sit down, which he did as well.

We both sat in silence for a minute or two before Go Gunhee opened his mouth.

"Where are you from?"

Straight to the point.

I speculated that he had this personality. Straightforward. Kind. Humble. I did some research online about him. He is the most liked Chairman, thanks to his ability to rule with kindness.

Lying now would only put a target on my back, so...

"From a Gate." I said and Go Gunhee tensed up in front of me. "I was stuck in there for quite a while..." Yeah... Those were some long minutes of my life. "I can't remember who I was before I was trapped in the Gate. I became... Someone else... Something else..." I said with pure emotions, probably the most I've shown since coming here. Well it's all true in a sense.

I can't remember who I was before dying. And I became someone else. Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez to be exact.

"That..." I leave my thoughts behind as I look into the eyes of Go Gunhee who just spoke. "Must've been hard on you." He says, causing my eyes to widen, if only a little. "I'm sorry."

"What..?" I short-circuit. No matter how badly I try to reign in my emotions, it still doesn't change the fact that it has been hard on me. For God's sake, I shut off my emotions to live. He has been the only person to acknowledge it.

Fuck me. Get yourself together.

"You don't have to be sorry." I wave a single hand with a straight face. "Not like you did it. Any other questions you'd like to ask?"

"No. That'll be all for now." He says as he stood up and placed a hand on my shoulder. "If you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here." After I stood up, he hands me two cards, the first one has his contact details on while the other one was beneath the first and couldn't be seen.

"I'll keep it in mind." I replied before walking myself out of the office.

(3rd POV)

Go Gunhee sat down at his desk before Woo Jin-Chul enters his office.

"What did you find out, Chairman?" Woo Jin-Chul asks in a hurry. He himself has been curious about the nature and identity of Grimmjow.

a Sigh escapes Go Gunhee's lips as he stares at the clouds rolling through the skies out of his window. "He has a story." He spoke up. "I just hope he has the courage to tell it..."

Thinking it's best to leave it as is, Woo Jin-Chul silently hums before exiting the office, leaving a melancholic Go Gunhee alone.

---

"Is this his tactic to get closer to me after witnessing my power?" Grimmjow mutters, staring at the card within his grip. "No..." He immediately dismisses the thought. "He doesn't seem like the cunning type... Uugh!" Frustrated, Grimmjow stuffs the card into his pocket and takes the other one out.

[Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez

ID: ***********]

"The man sure knows how to get in people's good books..." Grimmjow muses, putting his new ID card within the safe confines of his pant pockets.

"Grim!" a Voice sounds out from behind Grimmjow, causing his good mood to return to his previous straight face.

Turning around, Grimmjow spoke to the ghost calling to him.

"Su-Ho. Am I correct to assume that you have finished the task?" He asks, but instead of receiving an answer, he spots a few more ghosts following behind Su-Ho. "Hmm..." He hums. "It's not as much as I'd hoped, but it'll work." He states as he counts 9 ghosts, chalking the feeble amount off as the rarity of the race. Maybe it's a rare occurrence for a spirit to be roaming the world of the living.

"Ah... There was a few more, but they didn't wanna come..." Su-Ho explains with a frown.

"I'm guessing she has filled you all in with my plan?" Grimmjow speaks up, gesturing to Su-Ho, receiving nods from the gathered ghosts. "Great. Now... I do not care for your names. Neither should you care for mine. I only care about your results." He says harshly.

"From now on, you shall all be known as Whispers. And your first task is all the information of Korea's S-Rank Hunters. I want to know everything, from where they live, to their personality. I want accurate information. Disperse." He says, causing the ghosts to scatter in different directions without further explanations.

"What are you doing here?" Grimmjow asks Su-Ho who still stood next to him.

"Huh..? Wasn't I your guide..?" She asks carefully, getting a nod from Grimmjow as a reply.

"Yes. You were. Were." Grimmjow states, putting great emphasis on were. "Now go. You are a whisper just like the rest." He says and simply turns away before continuing his walk.

"He's still an inconsiderate asshole." Su-Ho mutters before scurrying away as Grimmjow turned towards her, indicating that he heard her rambling.

[AN: Yo. So this chapter I was thinking of touching more on the emotional spectrum of the MC, while also starting a string of events which will better his and Go Gunhee's relationship. Uhhh... Next chapter is gonna be him raiding a dungeon with another Guild, so if you don't like these type of emotional things, then don't worry. But on another note. Imma say goodnight. Cheers guys.]
