Chương 81: Eighty one
I was about to go down the stairs but decided to stop and check Nick's room. I saw a bump on the bed and went and uncover it. It was a dummy.
I laughed at it, then I remembered."Shit," I hadn't done a dummy in my bed. I ran bank and began to make one with clothes and pillows.
Minutes later, I tiptoed out of the door only to bump into Uche waiting for me. I almost screamed in fears at first so he had to cover mouth with his hand, and wow, does he have a big hand.
"Shh" He whispered and let go.
"I knew it was you," I lied.
"Oh." He said awkwardly at first then he smiled broadly and engulfed me in a hug.
I haven't hugged him in a while so I felt the urge to push him away like I would if a random person hugged me but then, I smelt his perfume and it all came back.
I wounded my arms around his torso and hugged him back, not wanting to let go anytime soon.
"Alright, let's go." He separated the hug. I would make a sad, pouty face but it was too dark for him to see that and notice.
We walked down the blocks and I have never been grateful for the streetlights. I squeezed Uche's hand out of nervousness and he squeezed back sweetly.
"When last did you go to a party?" He asked and I laughed shyly.
"My outfit gave that away, didn't it?"
"Nah, I like it." He shrugged.
"I didn't ask if you like it or not, of course you'd like it, it's your girlfriend's. I asked if it looked good for a party."
"Who cares, where whatever you want. Nobody's gonna be looking at anyone's outfit, everyone's probably already drunk as shit by the time we get to Kim's."
"Shit." I bit my lips when I remembered.
"What?" Uche stopped and turned to me."You forgot something?"
"Kim said Casey could only come if I was going to come. I've got to call her so she can come, she seemed excited about the party when he mentioned it." I explained and took out my phone as we continued walking.
"Casey?" I whispered over the phone, just in case she was sleeping so I didn't jerk her up but I found out pretty soon that she wasn't. There was noise and music in her background.
"Julie?" She laughed a little weirdly.
"I changed my mind. I'm going to the party. In case you still wanna go..."
"I'm already at the party. I sneaked in. Sorry I didn't tell you." She laughed again. It seemed she was drunk.
"Oh it's fine," I laughed. Casey was crazy. I would start to ask how she did it but I wanted to enjoy my time walking with Uche. I could always ask her at school.
"She going?" Uche asked when I hung up.
"She's already there. She sneaked it." I giggled.
"Casey's crazy." Uche laughed. The same thing I thought.
"I wonder how she did it." I just smiled.
"I don't know why Kim would do that anyway. If he's gonna invite everyone, he should just invite her to, not link it to you." I heard a tone of jealousy in his voice so I clutched his arm.
It went silent for a while between us so I decided to ask."What if you run into Nick? What will you do?"
"I don't know...greet him? Unless, he's still being weird and shit like he's being lately, then I'll just avoid stirring things up."
"I'm sorry," I mumbled."I shouldn't have asked you to hide that we are dating."
Uche chuckled,"He would have still reacted that way. The only thing is that we would have fixed things between us by now."
"So he'll stop being mad at you soon?"
"I hope," he shrugged, unsure."Come here," he pulled me to him and cupped my face, then he leaned in and kissed me.
It was just a quick kiss but it awoke all the hormones in me. I stood on my toes and kissed him back. His arms immediately rounded my waist. Soon I had his face in my neck.
"Julie?" I immediately pushed him away in panic. I turned and saw Casey. I didn't realize we were at Kim's house. Or were we? The music was coming from the far end of the street.
"What the fuck, Casey?" Uche ran his fingers through his hair to stop them from falling in his face.
"Sorry guys," she pouted."I got caught. April caught me when I was dancing next to her and then Kim asked me to leave...and everybody laughed."
I looked at Uche, he shook his head."Uhm, I don't really feel like going to the party anym..." I was going to cancel my plans of the party for her but she surprisingly cut me short.
"Let's all go together. If I go with you, he won't ask me to leave. He said I can come if you came." She still sounded excited. I shrugged. She really did want to be at that party.
"I guess the party's fun." Uche whispered in my ear as we got closer to Kim's. I just bit my lips. The kiss we shared before Casey came was still in my head.
"You came!" Kim said excitedly when he opened his door and saw me. That smile diminished when he spotted Uche standing behind me. But then he covered it up with a forced smile.
"Hey man," he greeted. I looked up at Uche to see if he noticed the weird energy, but he didn't."They let you..."
"Nah, they didn't. I left through the window. My girlfriend wanted to come so I came with her." I smiled when he called me his girlfriend in front of Kim, it felt so damn good.
"Well, come in and have fun. My parents don't come back till 12:30 tomorrow afternoon."
"Nice." Uche nodded and took my hand so we could go in.
"Julie came." I heard Casey tell him with a smile and follow us inside.
