"Sly who?"
"The Sly old Fox."
That was the joke the trickster told them before duping them.
While they laughed, they didn't know they were a joke to him.
Then and now.
He remained a sly old fox.
"The Bal du moulin de la Galette Pierre-Auguste Renoir, 1876" Ralph said referring to the big portrait hung on the wall in front of them.
"It looks extraordinary".Elle said staring intensely at the painting. It was a painting that showed contemporary French society. It was a masterpiece.
"Yes, it does".Ralph replied.
"It must have been worth a fortune".
"Worth just 80 million dollars. But it was gifted to my family by some of our business partners in France". Ralph replied with a smile.
"Your family seems to have lots of friends".
"Not really. We just have lots of business partners and people who are indebted to us". Ralph said. "Well. let's move to the next". He said moving on to the next painting.
