“What do you mean?” I asked curiously.
How can the textbook be wrong?
“Well, how do I put this? Even if history did already take place, books and lessons about history are still open to many interpretations and representation…” the prince explained.
I cocked my head to the side in slight confusion because I didn’t quite get what he was talking about. What does he mean by history being interpreted and represented differently?
“Let me try that again. There’s a staying that history is written by the winners, right? Have you heard that before?” he asked.
“No…” I mumbled.
“Basically, what that means is that the person who has the right to write these history books can basically write whatever they want in it. They can tell their version of the story in the way that they want it to be told. People like you, the readers, who don’t know anything will have no choice but to believe that it is true,” Prince Leonard explained before he grinned at me.
