Chương 200: The Finale

After getting back to the states, the first thing Lena did was break up with Emily. She gave her no explanation, simply handed her the ring back and said it was over. Emily tried to get an explanation but Lena brushed her off. Saying that there was nothing else to say since the relationship was over. That it should have never happened and hoped the two of them could get past it to continue their business relationship. Emily seemed very civil at the time so Lena didn't think to worry about Emily doing anything in retaliation.
The two of you were inseparable after you had come back. It took a couple of weeks to get used to being each other again and as soon as you did, you moved back in with Lena. It was all moving too fast but neither of you had cared since you had both lost 5 years away from each other. Leon and Lauren weren't thrilled at the beginning for the two of you to get remarried after what happened in the divorce but when they saw how happy the two of you were together again, they were happy to see their mothers together again.
The wedding took under a month to plan thanks to the fact that you had both dedicated all your time on picking things for the wedding. It helped that both your kids and friends jumped in to help with the planning and soon enough, it was the day of the wedding.
"Nervous?"
You hear Lauren ask behind you. You turned around as your makeup artist finished with you.
"Can you tell?"
She laughs and leans in to hug you. Letting go when your sister had come in to tell you the wedding was about to begin.
"You've already done this once. I'm sure a second time will be easier."
Lauren can't help but joke. You laugh along with her, playful slapping her arm as you pass by.
"You're so lucky that I can't ground you anymore."
"Yeah, yeah. Now come on. Mum is not going to be happy if you delay the wedding."

You and Lena had not been able to stop crying since you had both saw each other at the beginning. Both of you had tried so hard to hold in the tears but it wasn't happening. It was all too much for the two of you. Neither of you ever pictured yourselves to be standing in front of each other and exchanging vows again.
"...speak now or forever hold your peace."
The two of you were were lost in each other's eyes that the only thing that got both of your attention was the sound of doors slamming open followed by Emily's voice.
You took notice of the gun on her hand and stood in front of Lena.
"What do want?!"
Emily smiled and pointed the gun right at you. Alex stood up, pulling the gun from her thigh holster as did the rest of the agents.
"Drop the weapon or we will shoot."
"Not to worry Agent Danvers. I'm only here for my fiancee. She comes with me and no one gets hurt."
Kara wanted to intervene but there was too many cameras and civilians around.
"Drop the weapon or we won't shoot."
"We can do this the easy way or the hard way."
"Let me go. She wants me. Not you or anyone else. No one has to get hurt." Lena leaned in to whisper to you.
"No. I'm not letting her take you away from me again. Alex is going to take care of this."
You whisper back.
"She's not going with you, Emily!"
"No?" She laughs and shoots you and Lena. "If I can't have her, no one can!"
Chaos erupted as agents jumped in to cuff her, while others ran over to help you and Lena.
Leon and Lauren tried to get to the two of you but Kara and Alex were holding them back.
Both you and Lena knew that as much as the medics tried to help stop the bleeding, there wasn't anything they were able to do to save either of you. You reached over to take her hand and held it as tightly as you could.
"I love you now and forever."
You say on your last breath.
"Now and forever."
Lena says after you.

Andrea knew she was fucked. She didn't think the VR simulator was going to last so long but it's already been over a month. She's tried everything to get either of you to wake up but nothing worked. It was like the two of you were stuck in your own world.
With no other idea on how to wake you and Lena up, Andrea went to Alex.
"WHAT THE HELL?! THIS WHOLE TIME THEY'VE BEEN WITH YOU?!"
Andrea winced at Alex's tone. She fully expected the yelling.
"They are in good health, Alex. I didn't mean to hurt them. I just wanted to finalize realize their feelings for each other."
"Oh yeah. Like that makes it any better. Lena and (y/n) are going to be so pissed."
"For just a second, then they'll thank me. Weren't you tired of all the sexual tension whenever those two walked into a room."
"....okay, I admit it was getting annoying. Not a word to those two. Lets go and see what I can do."

After checking all the files that Andrea had on the two of you to get you out, Alex had given up. There was nothing either of them could do but wait. They took turns watching the two of you, waiting to see a spike in your heartbeats.
"Alex! I think they are waking up! You need to come over!"
"Lena!"
"(y/n)!"
The two of you wake up with a jolt, unsure of how either of you were alive. And neither of you cared. All that mattered was that the two of you were alive.
"We're alive! What happened?"
You look down at your body, finding that you had no bullet wound or anything. Lena does the same thing, also finding nothing. Both of you pulled your heart monitors and stood up to kiss the other.
"Woah, I did not expect that."
Andrea says as she comes out of a small room at the front. Alex follows close behind.
You push Lena behind you as you didn't recognize the women in front of you.
"Andrea?"
Lena calls out from behind you.
"Yeah, I take it that something must have happened in the simulation."
"What do you mean simulation?"
The two of you say at the same time. Walking closer and closer to Andrea. Andrea starts to back away, hoping Alex would save her but she doesn't.
"Funny story, I hooked the two of you up to a VR machine and it's possible that the two of you were stuck there for over a month."
Neither of you were sure of what to say. One thing was for certain was the the two of you wanted to hurt Andrea for what she had done.
"Wait! Before you kill me, I must remind you that the two of you couldn't even stand to be in the same room and now I'm guessing the two of you dated in the simulation."
"We were married. Had two kids."
"Oh shit. How much time did it pass for the two of you?"
"20 years."
"Oh my god. I really didn't mean for the two of you to get stuck in there for so long. Something went wrong with the simulation and I couldn't get you out."
"We just need some time to process what happened. We'll talk to you when we're ready."
Andrea nods as she watches the two of you walk away. 20 years was such a long time, she can't imagine thinking how the two of you must be feeling over the fact that those 20 years hadn't happened nor did your kids exist. She really should've just locked the two of you in a room. She was going to do a lot of making up.
