Y/N: Kill me now.
You were laying on the floor in the stair room as you and Terry took a break. 48 doors. 48 DOORS! You were no closer to finding this "threat". And where was Dr. Fate? Hell if you knew! He hasn't showed back up since you started. How long have you been doing this? No idea. It feel like days honestly.
Terry: I don't know how many doors I can take.
Y/N: This tower looked so much smaller on the outside.
Your suit was soaked, torn, and burnt. You sat up, popping your back in the process, and looked around. There were so many doors.
Y/N: Shit. All this to stop headaches.
You stood up and dusted yourself off before you turned back to Terry.
Y/N: You ready?
Terry groaned as he pushed himself back up.
Terry: Yeah. Let's just find this stupid magic thing so we can go.
Y/N: I agree.
You both walked to the next door and sighed before pushing it open. You both stepped through it and, surprisingly, you found yourself in a strange place.
Y/N: Uh, what is this?
Terry: No idea.
You walked around some more as you looked at around. It was a house. Like, a suburb house. As you looked around, Terry noticed one of the pictures.
Terry: Y/N?
You looked over and saw the picture he was holding. It was, you? Well, an older you. What made things weird though was the person you were with.
Y/N: You're seeing this to right?
Terry: Yeah. I am.
The second figure in the picture was rapidly shifting between Debra, Cassie, Mia, Stephanie, Helena, Cassandra, Lilith, and Melanie.
Y/N: The hell is this?
Terry: Call me crazy but, I think this might be the future.
Y/N: The future? What? I'm confused.
Suddenly, there were footsteps coming down stairs. You and Terry tensed up and pulled out batarangs for whatever threat you were about to face. Your eyes grew wide when you saw the older you.
Adult Y/N: Oh. Was that today?
You and Terry looked at each other. He was calm. The adult you walked over to his couch and sat down. He signaled for the two of you to join him which you, hesitantly, did. You both sat across from him and you noticed the wedding band on his finger.
Adult Y/N: Right. I'm sure you have plenty of questions so let me try to remember what they were. Uh, why are you here? Dr. Fate. How are you in the future? Dr. Fate. What is this? Well, that one is a bit hard to explain.
Terry: Wait, so you know what's going on?
Adult Y/N: Yes and no. Like I said, hard to explain.
Y/N: Does it have to do with that photo?
The older you laughed a bit as he looked at his ring.
Adult Y/N: Yep. We're nomads. The timeline hardly affects us. That being said, in cases like this when we see the future, things change. When I look at that picture, I see my wife. When you look at it, you see something different.
Y/N: Why is that?
Adult you just shrugged. You looked back at the picture as it shifted. As it did, you noticed that the location, clothing, and even the poses changed.
Y/N: So I can't see who you chose?
Adult Y/N: No. And I can't tell you cause you'll just hear a bunch of voices overlapping.
Y/N: I have so many questions.
Adult Y/N: I'm sure you do. Like the Crisis or how to be a good leader. I can't help you with that either. Like I said, nomad. Even if I tell you something, it won't guarantee that things will play out the same.
Terry: So you can't really help us?
Adult you looked at Terry and smiled.
Adult Y/N: I remember that costume. It was the second one I wore. And the one you're wearing...
He pointed at you.
Adult Y/N: Tells me that you aren't Red anymore. Thank God. Those were a weird couple of months. Never tried to date more than one girl after that.
You just sighed.
Y/N: Hey, uh, do you remember....
Adult Y/N: There's no threat. Dr. Fate just wanted us to meet. As soon as you two leave, you'll be fixed if that's what you want. He gives us a choice to get rid of the timeleak or getting our memories back.
No point in asking him what he did. You just stood up and turned back to the door.
Adult Y/N: Just know some things.
You stopped and turned back to the older you.
Adult Y/N: The woman I chose, I love her. A lot. I remember feeling lost when I was your age. You're not alone. That stays the same through every timeline. Another that stays the same is, when the time comes, just know that Bruce made the right choice.
You looked at him confused.
Y/N: What do you mean? What choice did Bruce make?
You never got an answer. You and Terry were back in the lounge suddenly with Dr. Fate who was reading by the fire.
Dr. Fate: What is your decision?
You looked at him for a moment. The adult you said he would give you choice. Recover your memories or fix the timeleak.
Terry: Dude, I know this is really important and everything but, I really need to sleep. Please make your choice so we can go home.
Y/N: I, I...
You closed your eyes and tried to remember the older you. He said he was happy. He said the Bruce would make a choice and that he would be right. He said, you weren't alone.
Y/N: Fix the leak.
Terry looked at you with a raised brow.
Terry: I know I said to hurry but, I meant you should think about this. You sure you just want to erase your memories?
You nodded.
Y/N: This is my life now. This is who I am. The old Y/N had a home in the future. My home is here. Besides, I have plenty more memories to make.
Terry smiled a bit while Dr. Fate placed a hand to your head. A bright light filled the room as you felt your body grow lighter. The light vanished and you opened your eyes.
Y/N: Is, is it done?
Dr. Fate: Yes. However, I did change something.
You raised a brow but, you decided you didn't care.
Dr. Fate: I am glad you found your way. The Batman told me it would be a matter of time.
Of course Bruce somehow planned this. He always had a damn plan.
Dr. Fate: Now, I presume you would like to return to your friends?
Terry: They're probably home by now. It's got to be late.
Dr. Fate: No. Time has not moved forward since you entered the tower.
You and Terry looked at each other for a moment before you both sighed.
Dr. Fate: Now, goodbye.
He waved his hand and you and Terry were suddenly in free fall back in your normal clothes.
Terry/Y/N: AHHHHHHHHHH
Everyone looked up to see the two of you fall from the sky and into the water. You both swam to the surface and gasped for air.
Terry: FUCK YOU!
Y/N: YOU MAGIC ASSHOLE!
You both swam to the beach and rolled to you backs as you looked up to the sky.
Jason: The hell just happened?
You didn't even answer. You just looked up and looked at everyone.
Y/N: Just, leave us here for a bit.
