Appearing in the hall yet again all the elders were staring at James in anticipation. Only Zaeus didn't seem nervous but rather surprised.
"You did it, young man, you actually got acknowledged by the Spirit of the one-handed sword. In such a short time as well, how did you do it?"
James didn't really want to have a full-blown conversation with Zaeus right now, he was way too eager to look and test out his new weapon.
"She seemed to have made up her mind even before I got summoned sir Zaeus, I didn't have to take a test."
Zaeus just sighed and let his head hang down.
"Some people are just born to wield a weapon I guess, nevertheless, I am sure you are eager to test out your new weapon, young man. I won't hold you any longer, you may go."
James gave a light bow and made his way toward the elevator while taking a look at the [Spirit Weapon Orb], to see if anything had changed.
[Spirit Weapon Orb] (weapon, Divine Rank)

(If you absorb a one-handed sword those Attributes and skills will only show on the one-handed sword form)

Additional Active Skill 3 – Soul Protector

Cooldown 10 days.
Soul bound to player one.
Unable to be dropped, traded.
The creator of this weapon is unknown. It is made through the combination of countless divine weapon spirits, all trapped within countless Divine engravings.
After looking it through James didn't see any changes that he didn't expect, but the skills were still as magnificent as before. The devour skill alone was already reaching for a divine weapon but being able to negate 1 true death every 10 days on top of that was just insanity.
James quickened his pace out of the War God's temple, he couldn't wait to look at his new weapon any longer.
Making it out of the building he searched for a deserted alleyway to get some privacy before activating the orb.
[Transform]
The light particles came flying out from James's body while forming a rather normal-looking sword in his stretched-out hand. It looked nothing like a divine sword, more like a mass-produced piece of shit. At that exact moment he thought that a rather angry woman's voice popped up in his mind.
"This is only the base form; you will be able to change it into any of the weapons you absorb in the future. So, stop complaining will you."
"Sorry miss Angelina, it was just unexpected."
James proceeded to look at its stats.
[Divine Spirit Sword] (One-handed Sword, Divine Rank)

One of the forms of the Spirit weapon orb
Looking at the stats of the weapon James felt slightly disappointed, it was a blank slate. He could have expected this since most of the stats and all the skills from the weapon came from the skill Devour. Which reset every time it got a new owner.
The stats it had now were comparable with a Legendary weapon, at least without the skills and extra bonuses such as ignoring defense and giving a chance to deal higher damage. James quickly got over his sadness however, he could gain all of that and way more with the Devour effect, and it wasn't like he needed that powerful of a weapon right now. This would do more than fine.
Putting on all His new equipment James took a look at his new and improved stats, and he honestly couldn't believe his eyes. His Attack had reached a grand total of 310,000, an unimaginable number for a level 20 [Tier 0] player, after you considered the extra damage from him being a basic sword king and semi-permanent bonuses such as the aura of fire, his attack was 810,000. He could with some confidence say that he was the strongest Tier 0 player in the whole Starlight Realm, probably even beyond that. James however didn't think too much of it after calming down, he probably wouldn't be able to upgrade his equipment for some time, so this big gap in power that he had over other geniuses was only going to get smaller and smaller the more gear they got, he also knows that he had gotten extremely lucky today. 99,9% of Legendary Ranked and above items have tier restrictions, he just so happened to have found the one in a thousand pieces that have other requirements.
Now that he had spent close to a day completing this quest James took a trip toward the workshop Iron was working in.
Walking into the foraging forging room James saw Iron still diligently working.
"how's it going Iron, looking well rested."
Iron was kind of shocked to see James here.
"Yea I took a break, anyway what are you doing here? Thought you were doing that Tier-up quest that would take at least 3 days."
"Yea, I had some urgent quest I forgot about, but good thing is that with the rewards I obtained from that I am basically unstoppable so that mythical rank quest brown is doing is going to be a piece of cake. Anyway, take this."
James said while throwing the Advanced book of magic and the foraging insignia to Iron.
"You can make good use of those I presume. Start making a lot of intermediate mana armor kits, not for the guild but just to sell, they will sell like hot cakes I can guarantee you that."
Before he stepped out of the room Iron called to James halting him in his tracks.
"Hold on James, in this book it says that I have to be able to draw magic arrays to make these mana armor kits, I'm not even a basic Apprentice magician. How am a supposed to do that?"
James just slapped his forehead; how could he have forgotten? Now that he thought about it, he hadn't become a magician either. That could wait for after his promotion though.
James walked to the foraging table in the middle of the room and took a few pieces of paper that were lying at the ends of the table. It took only about 10 minutes for James to produce 6 pieces of paper, every one of them having a slightly more complicated magic pattern on them. As a former Grandmaster magician James didn't even need to have the subclass to be able to write these low-level arrays, the higher one might be a problem though.
He took the stack of paper and handed it to Iron.
"Here you go big fella, 6 Mana gathering array designs plus a list of materials you need to make them. You could theoretically jump straight to the last one and directly become an Advanced Magician, but it is your first time so take it easy."
Iron took the designs and looked at them with a frown on his face, clearly not understanding any of it.
"Don't worry about it, I wrote a detailed description on the back so I'm sure you can figure it out. Plus, Magician is one of the most used subclasses in god's domain, in combat or in crafting, so you better get good at it."
"Yes, yes, I got it, now get out I'm trying to concentrate."
Iron said while still scratching his head, clearly having a headache.
Now done with everything he needed to do James rented another hotel room and made some final preparations while looking over his status screen, he had some free Attribute points left over. 304 to be precise but disturbing them would make close to no difference so he decided to keep them there. What he did decide to spend were some Mastery Points, he had around 650 accumulated thanks to his crazy class talents, so he spend 550 of them to make himself go from a basic sword king to a basic sword Emperor. Skipping over the intermediate and advanced sword king in one go. He did entertain the idea of disturbing some points into the two-handed sword mastery, but he currently didn't have a worthy second sword to wield, plus he would get tons of mastery points in the future anyway so there was no need to be stingy.
One-handed Sword Mastery +1000 (Basic sword Emperor – Increases One-handed Sword Damage by 150%)
Two-handed Sword Mastery + 0 (Apprentice Rank – Increases Two-handed Sword Damage by 5%)
Free Mastery Points: 86
Seeing that his normal sword slash could do over a million damage James felt more ready than ever to take on his class advancement, pulling the tiny pocket watch out of his inventory James started pouring some of his mana into it. Only a few seconds later an oval-shaped Portal appeared right in front of him. The inside was a dark purple with little stars all over the place, the rim was a pure black band with white borders.
James didn't take his time to admire the portal and just walked in as soon as he was able to, appearing on a big floating island that was seemingly floating in the vastness of space. All plants on the island looked completely black or withered and a looming fog was everywhere.
System: You have discovered the swordsmanship sanctuary of the ancient gods
System: You are in a unique realm. All forms of communication have been sealed. You are unable to make contact with the outside world.
The system messages didn't surprise James, he had long known they were coming. The only thing he was curious about was the name of this place. 'The swordsmanship sanctuary of the ancient gods' sounded grand but James knew better than anyone that names could be misleading. Most people might think that sanctuaries and ancient gods meant that this fragment came from the ancient god's domain, but those things have never disappeared and are even now present in gods domain, so this could come from any time period. He had to start looking around to find out from what time period this place was from.
The only buildings present were these temples that varied in size, all seemingly long forgotten, and most of them were in a state beyond repair. The only similarity between these temples was that all of them had an arena in the middle of them, with training equipment like swords and dummies lying in some corner collecting dust. The equipment didn't look much better than the temples themselves.
Looking around for a while in one of such temples that were nothing more than rubble. James came to the conclusion that the completely destroyed ones were probably duds, the only thing he could make out of the rubble was that this building seemed to be some sword training ground, and by the remnants of Divine engravements on the floor he could with confidence say that it came from the era of ancient gods. That at the very least gave him a slight idea about which time period this fragment of gods domain came from. He could've expected this due to the fact that he had the legacy of Cronus an ancient god, but he still couldn't help but grow excited. Legacy grounds like this one weren't simply created to serve as legacy lands. They are actual places from all time periods, which means that in most of them, there were still plenty of opportunities.
