We stand outside the castle, woods stretching out in front of us. Dominik stands a few feet in front of me, looking up at the sky. He mutters something that I can’t hear and then, without warning, pulls his shirt over his head.
“What are you doing?” I ask, covering my eyes as his hands reach down to the edge of his pants.
“If I do not change before transforming, my clothes will be ripped to shreds,” he explains.
I peak through my fingers and see his back, wide shoulders narrowing down to… I blush and raise my eyes up again, staring at the cloudless sky. Without warning or sound, a large golden figure fills the little vision I’ve allowed myself.
I uncover my face, and before me is the dragon who carried me from my village. He turns his head, looking back at me, his wings folding against his back. I step forward hesitantly keeping my eyes on his ferocious face.
