Chương 51: Bloody Trap

This announcement triggers an uproar among the crowd. They can kill other participants and acquire their points. Does that mean students from the same schools could kill themselves to acquire points. Meaning that instead of watching out for their adversary, they would have to split their attention to watch out for their classmates, in case they stab them in the back.

Trap! This was a bloody trap for the students!

Xue Yiran lips inadvertently curl up, showing an amusing smile. Seems like she had really made a good choice to attend the interschool competition. Unlike the virtual net where you fight brutally with your skills, the interschool competition seems to take in consideration the behavior of human in any situation.

Any rational person could detect that this was a trap set by the upper authority. However, it all depends on them to jump into it or not.

Vice president Edward knew this might cause a slight disturbance among the contestants, but he still went on with his speech. At the end of the speech, the participants of the event from each school were called out and were handed out a golden seal.

The seal was meant to protect themselves in the simulation world. As a result, if anyone were killed in the simulation world, they would be teleported to the outside world without sustaining any injuries. The golden seal serves as a passage way to their safety.

Once all the students finished putting on the golden Seal, Vice-Principal Edward opened his mouth again. His impassioned utterances once again traveled into everyone's ears.

"I now declare that the free-for-all battle has officially begun! I'll now activate the simulation formation. Soon, every student will be teleported to the simulation world. Your arrival site will be randomly selected. Now, please take your time to enjoy this splendid event!"

After he finished speaking, all contestants were swallowed by a white curtain of light. Soon their whole body disappeared under everyone's gaze.

A large holographic screen appeared in everyone's view showing each participant in their respective location. Everyone one was guard, as they were afraid to be ambush by any enemy.

Still, that doesn't detach their fate of being attacked by the simulation beast. Soon, attack rang out from all directions.

Ian was also seated among the audience. Since he had agreed to his mentor Amos, to not participate in the interschool competition, Ian could only be added to the substitute group.

His eyes were staring at a figure on the screen. It was Colton. Unlike him, Colton was participating in the competition. From Colton current achievement points, it seems like he hadn't slack off with his training. His name was on the third of the ranking list. Both top one to five were all taken by the Roland academy students.

It might look fabulous, but one could see that those behind them were starting to catch up. Those from the lower academy were starting to get disqualify one by one due to their low physical strength.

Seeing that the students were all focusing on killing the simulation beast, the judges breathe a sigh of relief. For what they had reckon to happen didn't take place. Looks like the student's heart are still pure, and aren't exposed to the reality of life.

However, they were bound to be wrong as the clock ticks by. Two hours has passed by. Susu was yawning in boredom inside Xue Yiran's consciousness.

[Watching this really makes me sick. Can't they see the flaws of the monster. Everyone's know the rock lizard speed is nothing to talk about. Instead of jumping in its view, they should have approached from behind and attack it.] As a walking encyclopedia, Susu could see the beast weakness at a glance. And the fact that the simulation beast that was projected was weaker than a normal beast, really makes him want to scold the students who were being killed by the simulation.

[I can't look any longer. Oh, my heart. This is so devastating. I don't think any of these contestants would be able to survive by themselves if they were dispatch in the wilds.]

Despite Susu complains, the judges appeared happy, nodding their head, as they watch the participants performance with a satisfied smile on their face.

Xue Yiran kind of agreed with Susu remark, but there was still quite an exception of people who were performing well. For example, Louie. The young guy's name was sitting in the rank of 489th.

With such a low rank, one would have ignored such an individual. No, he was truly ignored by everyone apart from Xue Yiran. The others were all focusing on the top ten on the list, unable to noticed the strange occurrence that was happening downward below.

From Xue Yiran's observation, she could see Louie walking around the simulation world as if it was his backyard. Whenever a beast attacked him, instead of killing it, the other person would instead kick away the beast far away, not rendering any injuries to its body.

Seeing that its opponent was gone, the beast would then switch his target to someone else. Maybe noticing that his rank was starting to fall low, Louie would pick on pace and kill several beasts.

However, Xue Yiran could indeed see that he was trying to hide his strength. Her pupil constricted sharply. Although she knew Louie was a dangerous guy, Xue Yiran couldn't still fathom how deeply his strength is.

'Well, it's better I don't relate with him'.

Soon, the competition was starting to near its end. Just thirty minutes, everyone was starting to feel the tension of the competition. The top one to ten on the ranking list, have all been occupied by Roland academy.

"Fuck." Alec cursed seeing his name dropped to rank eleven.

'I can't lose. I've trained so hard for this day. I can't let myself be overtaken by these Roland trash. Damn them'.

"I don't care. I'm going to do it." Having made up his mind, Alec hurriedly rushed into the distance. Soon, he heard a loud commotion going to his south. He immediately dashed towards there.

On getting there, he saw a girl from other academy, who was busy struggling to fend off a beast. Foreseeing that she was about to lose, Alec immediately jumped in, and slashed the incoming beast into two. The beast spurt into a white particle and disappeared into the air.

Having escaping an encounter of being disqualified, the young girl was very happy.

"Thanks so much. Thanks for saving my life." She immediately bowed in gratitude towards Alec, showing how grateful she was.

A strange smile appeared on Alec face which wasn't noticed by the girl.

"You don't have to thank me. That's because you'll be repaying me sooner."

"Huh." The girl raised her body up and looked at Alec with a confused expression. But before she could say anything, a white ray came down upon her. All that she could see was blackness before she suddenly finds herself amidst of other disqualified participants.

"Huh. How did I get here? Didn't I..." Her whole body suddenly went cold when she thought of what had just happened some minutes ago.

Chương 52: Guilt

Did she just get slain by the guy who had save her. She couldn't believe such a thing had happened to her.

Not only her, the whole audience also saw everything that went on in the simulation world.

"Oh my, did he just kill that young girl."

"That is so sickening. How could he do that."

"Damm, I'm starting to get goosebumps as I think of it."

"What a foul. That guy should be disqualified."

"He's from Craig academy. Can't believe their students would execute such a foul play."

The students from Craig academy, all had an embarrassed look on their face when the name of their school was being identified. They gradually lowered their head, covering their faces with their hands as they tried to minimize their presence in the crowd.

Such actions were immediately futile, as the other students sighted them, before criticizing them with scolding words.

'Damm you Alec!' They all cursed Alec repetitively in their hearts, since he was the cause of the whole situation.

The homeroom teachers of Craig academy all had a gloomy expression on their face. They knew even if they pass the first round, their school reputation would still be in ruin.

Just as everyone was starting to scold the Craig academy, another scene began to take place in other video feeds.

Perhaps realizing it was now or never, the contestants started attacking one another.

"I'm sorry that I've to do this, Colin. It's quite evident you wouldn't make it pass the next round. Instead of that, why don't you lend me your points buddy."

"Fuck you, Damon. I never knew you were this kind of person. I really regret becoming friends you. You want my points, right? Then you can have it over my dead body."

Such scenario was going on everywhere. Friends for years became enemy. First love became foes on the battlefield.

Seeing the riots going on, Colton immediately ran for his dear life to seek shelter. Several people tried to attack him, but they were the ones who ends up dead instead.

'Damm it. What have gotten into their heads. Can't they see that it's all trap. How gullible they are to fall into it'.

Colton shook his head in dismay. He kept on running, trying to find a safe place to hide. Although this place is a simulation world, it was constructed just like an actual world. There were trees, rocks and hidden caves. All he just has to do is to stay there till the time run out.

He only had to persist for twenty minutes before the first stage of the competition ends.

Witnessing the gruesome madness that was going on in the simulation world, none of the spectators could utter a word.

Right now, over eleven thousand participants had been eliminated. This is such an astronomical number of eliminations for a first stage event.

The judges expression weren't looking pleasant either. However, there was nothing they could do, since they were the ones that had made the rules.

Soon the timer runs out, those who were still in the midway of their battle found themselves teleported to the outside world.

Although Vice president Edward wasn't satisfied with the turn out of the event, he still stood up from his sit to announce the victory of those who had last till the time lapse.

Out of the thousands of students that had participated in the first round, only twelve thousand had made it to the next round. However, there were some contestants whose points were lower than average. Hence, they were disqualified, cutting short the number of students who had passed the first round to seven thousand.

Some schools were unlucky as all their students were kicked out from the first round. Some students who were killed couldn't help hold a grudge at those who had killed them.

But there was nothing they could do but to accept defeat.

"The second event will be the combat competition. It will be holding on tomorrow at the same time. Also, I congratulate those who had passed on to the next stage. I hereby announced the end of today's event." Unlike his previous enthused voice at the opening of the event, Vice president Edward tone could be said to be grimly.

Looking into his eyes, the students who had cheated their way into the next round, couldn't help but lower their head in guilt. They could see the dissatisfaction towards them from the judges and audience. But what's done is done. There's no changing what had already happened.

Everyone left the stadium one by one. Each of them all had something to say with their partners.

[Wow, I never expected to experience such a thrilling moment. I would say those kids really shows how humanity would behave in such a dire situation]

Such a scene wasn't the first time to Xue Yiran. Luckily, Hermes academy was among those who pass the first round. It could be said to be their luck.

Since it was passed lunch time, she heads to the cafeteria to grab some food to eat.

All through the competition, Aviva had been keeping an eye on Xue Yiran. Her hatred for Xue Yiran had already reached the limit. Although she wasn't in the cafeteria yesterday afternoon, she had heard of how Xue Yiran had humiliated the girls.

Of course, she was the one who had tipped the four girls about Sylvia arrival. Why else would the two clash together. Do you all think it's a coincidence? Coincidence my foot.

Seeing that her plan had failed, she couldn't help but detest Sylvia more.

'Why does she always get lucky? Well, not this time around.'

A scheming smile appeared on her lips.

"Well, why don't you enjoy the gift I'm about to give you tomorrow. Perhaps it will be to your liking." She kept her pace and walked out of the stadium.

A group of boys also walked out of the stadium. When one of the boys bade farewell, his group immediately asked.

"Where are you going Zach? Aren't we heading to the dining hall together."

"You guys can go ahead. I've something else to do."

Hearing Zach response, the group could only comply to his wish and left without him.

After they were gone, Zach immediately head to an opposite direction. He kept walking away from the crowd before finally arriving at a remote place.

He looked left and right but after seeing no one around, he immediately brought out his contact device and dial a contact. While doing that, he turned off the holographic function. This was to prevent anyone knowing who he was talking with.

"I'm already at the location. Where are you at?"
