How many people had eaten their dinner on top of the bridge?
A lot, probably.
But how many people had eaten their dinner on top of the suspension of the bridge? Not many, I presumed. I sure hoped so, for everyone's sake. But I was allowed, because I did it with a winged demon that kept his hands on me all the time. Totally safe.
We bought dinner from the street vendor so it felt like a festival, and flew to the place where I could enjoy everything. Sitting on top of the bridge, we stared at the urban landscape of the city with the palace behind us. Two sun towers were on our left and right, illuminating the lake with the glowing rune and golden crystal.
Along the bridge, lamps with smaller golden crystals containing the mana from the sunlight line up like runway lights. The same lamps, scattered across the city, looked like twinkling stars in a clear night sky.
