Chapter 146: Misfortune Is Near

He laughed widely as one should when they have acquired all of the Road Poneglyphs under the nose of the entirety of the world!!! And he'll be using them to set off an Age Of Chaos!!

There were four Road Poneglyphs, one in Onigashima, another in Big Mom's treasury, another in a place called Zou, then one by the Fish-Men Island, or it was by the Island before being taken away.

Yovan took none of them. No, he sees their location to be just as valuable as the copies he has... However, it's not time yet... The Countdown is about to end.

"The coming of misfortune?" Robin asked with confusion.

"Indeed, you can think of it as a side effect of his Devil Fruit. Well, that's what it is," Capone Bege nodded.

"Is it because of crows' connection to misfortune?" Robin further asked curiously.

"Maybe," Bege shrugged, uncertain himself.

"That's very interesting," Robin frowned in contemplation, "Could it be that our thoughts, desires, and history is what shape Devil Fruits?"

That was brilliant speculation, something Yovan thought of as well. No, he was almost entirely certain of it because it concerns him and Limitless.

His Devil Fruit, Kakin Kakin No Mi was once just a normal Devil Fruit yet now it's mythical.

Moreover, his Devil Fruit was always strange as if influenced by Limitless as well as his own monstrous willpower, exhibiting some very unique capabilities, all related to survival.

First, there were the feathers of desperation, then his beast form's stealthy nature to the point of evading most Haki users' senses... Then came his awakening, Scatter.

It speaks for nothing but his desire to survive, to be absolute when it comes to ignoring Death.

He named his ship, Fire of Survival, and his Devil Fruit transcended into a mythical Devil Fruit, the Three-Legged Crow, the lord of all that is golden, the sun, and flames within all of us, speaking to the fire of survival within him.

However, he can not verify his theory just yet as his Mythical Devil Fruit seems to require a lot more to awaken, but he has a question for Limitless that may solve a lot of doubts.

Limitless grants him one question after every Countdown, and Yovan already knows what he wants to ask, something that may change everything... Perhaps, just perhaps, Fortune is on his side.

"We still have a month, plenty of time to train a bit," Yovan stated as he walked up to the crow's nest, having just woken up.

"Train?"

"????"

"Please no!?"

"Oh ma gad, hell is coming!"

Robin was very much confused about the Strangers' exaggerated reactions, or at least she thinks they were exaggerated... She won't think so for much longer.

"Hm? Wanna train also? When has my Antarisa grown to love hard work?" Yovan let out a chuckle as Antarisa joined him, rubbing her head against him for affection.

"Since you left her alone with the monster that is Big Mom," Viola commented with a chuckle as she walked up to him with none other than Pudding.

Pudding ran to Yovan taking a seat right by him with a look of anticipation, "Papa, what do you think about this one?" She tried to feed him a piece of cake.

Just as Yovan wanted to bite on the cake, something he was used to, her words clicked in his head, "Wait... What did you say?"

"Hm? I want you to try this one! My newest creation!" Pudding responded happily.

"Oh, that makes more sense," Yovan nodded as he took a bite. She was truly the best addition to his crew, "MMmm, I could've sworn you called me papa, but I guess I'm imagining things."

"Papa? I did call you Papa? Why? Is it bad to call you Papa?" Pudding said papa some more just to make sure he hears it, her tone was that of hope.

"Pfff, what?" Yovan had to cough to get his bearing back together, looking at her in the eye for a good few seconds, "Umm, sure?"

"Yay!!!" Pudding jumped in happiness, hugging him tightly. He really couldn't say no despite knowing that the little demoness is messing with him.

"Fufuffufu," Robin and Viola both let out a giggle, the orchestrators, Yovan was sure. They're definitely teaching her some weird stuff.

"I suddenly feel like I should increase the intensity of the training, by a lot. In fact, let's start training right now." Yovan certainly knows how to get back at them. He's about to show them hell.

He has plenty of time for there was a change of plans. The fall of a country has to be delayed as the Pantheon finally discovered the location of a certain individual.

In fact, many of the Pantheon members were assembled, Aphrodite, Gaia, Zeus, and Loki.

High high in the sky, there was an Island, many Islands in fact, all floating about. In contrast to Skypiea which is stuck to one location, these Islands seem to be moving in a certain direction.

There were even buildings all about, but someone was outside due to sensing an abnormality.

There was a very tall elderly man dressed in traditional clothes consisting of an orange trimmed, a red, and black kimono robe tied together with a dark green sash, and a golden chain around his waist.

He has golden mane-like hair, reaching down to the ground, and on the top of his head is part of a steering wheel that got lodged into his head somehow.

He sports a golden bushy tuft of hair for a beard at the bottom of his chin and a black goatee with pointed edges surrounding his mouth.

His eyebrows are dark and pointed as well, and he has some purple spots on the left side of his face right around his right eye that indicates his age.

Even more peculiar were his legs which are simply swords. He was using swords as prosthetic legs.

The man was smoking a cigar while looking at a strange creature standing right before him, a tiny black crow with ominous hollow eyes.

The creature brought back some memories as he remembers sending a slash at a nosey crow long ago, taking out one of its wings. He was pretty sure it was a Zoan Devil Fruit user.

The crow before him, however, was different for the man could sense something, or more like, his inability to sense life in the crow as it isn't real... It was an Everless crow... It was none other than Misfortune.

The crow deformed into feathers before reforming again, but it left something behind, a piece of black paper, written on it was 'The Pantheon' Then there was a name, Shiki.

The man was Shiki the Golden Lion, also known as the Flying Pirate, the admiral of the Golden Lion Pirates, and the first known prisoner ever to escape from Impel Down.

"Well, shit," Shiki cursed as Aphrodite, Gaia, Zeus, and Loki fell from even higher in the sky, surrounding him, all with masks on.

"Gyahahaha Gyahahahahaha! He looks like a flashy chicken!" Loki couldn't help but laugh aloud, breaking Shiki's immersion.

He knows of the Pantheon, and he built a certain perception of them. Well, it was all broken by Loki's obnoxious laughter.

"You mean a rooster? Dumbass," Zeus corrected.

"Shut up! They're one and the same!" Loki retorted.

"Ah, you're such a flashy dumbass," Zeus retorted back, using Loki's way of talking against him.

"Talking like me? Eh? I knew you look up to me, so let me show you how it's done!" Loki Bragged as he walked up to Shiki.

And soon enough, the sounds of cries and calls for help were heard, "Zeus, you flashy bastard! Help!! I'm dying!!!"

"I thought you can handle it, don't worry! I believe in you! I always do!" Zeus encouraged.

"Shut up and help! I'm literally split into a thousand pieces!!!!" Loki yelled in desperation.

"Aghh, so childish," Aphrodite wanted to facepalm.

"Dumbasses," Gaia agreed.

"Says you! Female Goddess GAIA!!!" Both Zeus and Loki retorted at the same time, pissing not only Gaia off but also Shiki who was being treated like a joke.

There was a lot more yelling and chaos as many Islands fell, enormous pieces of rocks falling upon the world... Until all fell, all the Islands for Shiki was killed off.

Their true goal, what they really came there for was what happened after his death, one of the fruits they brought with them turned into a Devil Fruit.

Skypiea was the choice of residence for the Pantheon Gods, but it can not remain in one place, not with the World Government's deep desire to erase the Pantheon from existence.

Either way, Yovan's focus was on the countdown. He prepared so much for the end of the countdown, turning feather cyclone Island into a fortress of traps along with the entirety of his crew... However, nothing happened.

Yovan looked around in confusion, but there was no misfortune, none that he could see at least... Nothing happened.
