Chương 159: Calm Before the Storm of Plagues-Blood Side

(General POV)

Location the Blood Lands-Open Areas of the hellscape

Currently, the Blood God is doing something impossibly rare for him, he was wondering across his realm now Khorne was no longer bound to remain sitting upon his throne in the Brass Citadel as now they're others he can trust with watching over his realm, his Queen and wife Valkia, and his newly ascended elder daemon Skarbrand.

Speaking of the former bloodthirster turned daemonic demi-god as the Blood God walked around his Blood Lands, he found the elder daemon having a massive war against Ka'bandha in the middle of the Hunting Fields.

Khorne scuffs at the bloodthirster, Ka'bandha's jealousy at Skarbrand for obtaining greater power, authority, favor, and much more from Khorne and Valkia, sensing this irated the Blood God on how childish one of his mightiest daemon can be, but Skarbrand alone against sixty-four legions of lesser daemons under Ka'bandha, Khorne realized these bloodletters that chose to follow that greater daemon must have recently spawned for Ka'bandha was greatly punished once he was reformed after his death against the late Alderi prince, Alaeden.

Khorne and Valkia's punishment was brutal, beating and crushing the bloodthirster both physically and spiritually.

Ka'bandha nearly cost them all so much for his envy and ambition, so aside from the blood gods thrashing the bloodthirster, Khorne made it known that any daemon that follows Ka'bandha will not receive any favor or would be rewarded instead shunned and quite possibly massacred by the other Greater Daemons and legions around the Blood Lands.

With that decree, Ka'bandha lost much of his preblish many if not every single khornate daemons, have abandoned the bloodthirster, making said greater daemon desperate to gain the blood gods forgiveness which was not earned easily he has tried to travel back to the Materium to gain a large offering of skulls to Khorne and Valkia but they have forbade all daemons of blood from leaving the Warp or the Blood Lands in preparation for the new Dark God's emergence.

Hence, Ka'bandha's desperation that he assembled a humongous legion of lesser daemons recently spawned to not gain what he persevere as his vengeance but also try and gain the blood gods forgiveness.

Khorne only watched this bloodshed for a few moments, for it was clear which daemon with come out victorious.

In only a few moments, the newly ascended elder daemon Skarbrand utterly slaughtered all of Ka'bandha's forces singlehandedly his axes were bathed in daemon blood and at the end all those bloodletters served as offering for Khorne.

Before Khorne left to his business, he watched Skarbrand did not kill Ka'bandha instead he furiously and mercilessly beat the bloodthirster, even commanded the bloodletters to abandon and dragged away the broken bloodthirster to the Skull Thrones for judgement of their dark masters, this sight pleased Khorne he knows that Valkia will be ruthless on the foolish Ka'bandha, sometimes Khorne regrets sparing the bloodthirster from utter destruction but something is telling the Blood God that Ka'bandha will be greatly needed in the future...but it's becoming harder to resist the erge of killing that daemon.

After Khorne had his little entertainment, he continued on his way, observing his red hellscape with pride, all daemons that saw him bowed to him from the Bloodletters, Bloodcrushers, Blood Heralds, Bloodthirsters, Blood Valkyries, and Balrogs.

While Khorne doesn't care about groveling but he did like respect, and now he sees his daemonic legions surpass the numbers they once were when the first chapter of the Great Game was held.

Throughout the Blood Lands billions of daemons wondered and fought, for the favor of his and his wife, even the number of his loyal guard hound, Karanak pack of Flesh Hounds has swelled into the millions as well, the only daemons that have yet to reach those numbers are his newest the Blood Valkyries and the Balrogs.

Have finished his observation, and he then sensed a new addition to the Blood Land, which is greatly powerful drawing the Blood God, clamoring for his attention and thrall so the Lord of Skulls decided to follow this source to the far east.

Location the Tree of Souls

Traveling to the edge of his realm following the source of this great rage, violence, and blood as the titanic brass armored Khorne stomped through the Blood Lands, he spotted a glimpse of it...a tree...

Covered in fields of black flowers, each a shade trapped in death, each bloom a twisted face, each leaf a tiny skull, each stem a spine of tiny bones, this crimson tree that drain the scarlet life-essence of blood Khorne marbled at its twisted beauty as he sensed many of the souls of those that have fallen either cause or for him flowing through the entire tree.

They were stull living, these souls that now hung upon its branches, and living souls had been buried amongst its roots long ago they were twisted with pain and self-loathing, warped with loyalty to Chaos, the shades had made their pact of blood and now had their reward.

Those same shades, now condemned for eternity and piteous in their grieving, gibbered regrets and fears and promises of gratitude from every branch and twig, amused the Blood God as he walked closer to the massive new addition to his realm, with the surge of souls and dark power onto the Blood Lands many new structures and landmark started to manifest on his kingdom.

Khorne reached out to one of the skulled flowers and it welcomed the Blood God's touch, craving it even as it was clear this daemonic tree was alive and loyal to the Lord of Skulls, then as Khorne continues to inspect and touch the tree's skulled flower, a red aura surged fort and into Khorne he felt stronger and rejuvenate by this energy.

Later, Khorne sensed countless of his daemons coming to the area, this greatly pleased Khorne as another landmark has emerged and will greatly help his legion to defend his land he name this the Tree of Souls, and he'll later assign some daemons to guard it from all possible invaders.

[The Tree of Soul is just a landmark without any use, so I changed the lore to make it actually serve a purpose.]

Khorne let go of the skulled flower and started to make his way back to his throne and wife in the Brass Citadel, as he made his way back west to the Blood Lands, the daemons that came answering the call of the Tree of Souls, showed respectful reverence at him as he passed.

Khorne was greatly pleased the massacres and wars that broke out across the Alderi Empire has greatly benefited his realm, even now he felt as the Blood Lands grow in size and power, it was close to even rivaling his brother's realm the Nethervoid in size.

This made the Blood God quite pleased as he continued to return to the Skull Throne when he adbroadilly stopped and looked up at his scarlet sky, using his divine senses to feel the growing surge of another power in the Warp, which only meant one thing...Nurgle.

While Nurgle was still clearly weaker than him or Laharl at the moment, him being able to sense the future Plague God meant that he is getting stronger and closer to his birth.

This made the Lord of Skulls excited, while he still didn't know when his new brother would be finally born and face him in battle, just sensing the new Chaos God's power meant that their meeting at the battlefield was getting closer.

Then Khorne remembered what it said...what Absolute Chaos told him and his brother, Laharl, that once Nurgle was enlightened like his was by Laharl of ruling over all Chaos Gods not destroying them it will summon them all again, Khorne felt something he never felt before nerves, he was unnerved at the thought of once again meeting the primordial progenitor of Chaos, he still vividly remembers that encounter long ago and he regrets not listening to his brother's warnings at the time...

But then his nerve became rage and self-loathing, he swears that once he gains the throne over all other Dark Gods and is rightfully crowned the God of Chaos, the Blood God shall come for Absolute Chaos next.

Growling and tightening his fists that they actually punctured through his clawed gauntlets and pierced his flesh drawing the Blood God's "blood" blazing hot lava and magma that dripped down his hand and onto the crimson earth beneath.

Calming his fury, Khorne stopped harming himself, allowing his dark powers to heal his minor wounds and the brass armor to repair itself, he continued on his way back to his throne regardless of the outcome Khorne swears and believes that at the end he'll reign supreme.
